LOS ANGELES, Calif., USA — Sal Fish, the visionary, pioneering former owner of the SCORE International desert racing organization that he was part of for four decades, is resting comfortably according to family members following extensive open-heart surgery on Monday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
ENSENADA, Mexico — To further enhance SCORE International’s presence in the market and to grow exposure for SCORE teams and sponsors, SCORE International has committed to be the presenting sponsor of the upcoming 2nd annual International Off-Road & UTV Expo. The rapidly expanding public event will be held Sept. 23-25 at WestWorld, the renown multi-use facility in Scottsdale, Ariz.

SCORE will be celebrating its 50th anniversary of the iconic SCORE Baja 1000 in 2017, and today it announced the four-race schedule for the 2017 SCORE World Desert Championship. Next year’s series will will feature all four races in Baja, Mexico, for the second time in the storied history of the internationally-televised desert racing series.

RENO, Nev. – Undergoing rounds of aggressive chemotherapy treatments since early May, long-time SCORE Mexican Liaison Oscar Ramos Jassen, 52, of Tijuana, Mexico, died Thursday following the second day of his fourth round of chemo sessions, SCORE International announced.
Ramos was originally diagnosed with esophageal cancer in late April with a large tumor in his stomach area. He had been receiving testing and treatment at the Instituto Nacional de Cancerologia in Mexico City prior to his death on Thursday late afternoon.

With tight battles in races on both sides of the border, most classes have at least two racers within 10 points for their class point lead and a total of just 27 points separate the top 10 SCORE Overall point leaders heading into round 4 at the 19th Rigid Industries SCORE Desert Challenge to be held Sept. 25-28 at the Coyne Powersports Motorplex in Imperial Valley, Calif.
RENO, Nev. — Already with a total of six airings confirmed, the 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series will premier this Sunday at 6 p.m. (PT) with a one-hour CBS Sports Spectacular special on the CBS Sports Network.
SCORE International announced in February that CBS Sports Network will televise the entire five-race 2014 SCORE World Desert Championship series. Each one-hour telecast will air the month following each event, starting with the season-opening 28th Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 desert race.
