SCORE-Logo-12-20-11SAN DIEGO — BFGoodrich Tires, KTM, champion motorcycle racer Kurt Caselli (posthumously) racer Rene Rodriguez, and mechanic Johnny Nelson were among the big winners Saturday night as SCORE International officially concluded the 2013 SCORE Desert Series with the annual SCORE Awards Night gala in SoCal at the Town & Country Resort Hotel in San Diego.

SCORE Off-Roadsman of the Year awards were presented in 11 categories along with the 30 winners of the SCORE Toyota Milestone Awards and the class and overall point champions of Roger Norman’s three-race 2013 SCORE Desert Series.

In front of an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 400 and a worldwide audience via the live webcast of the festivities, the evening was also a celebration of 40 years of SCORE championship desert racing. Following the lengthy salute to the stars of the 2013 SCORE Desert Series, new SCORE owner Roger Norman summarized his first year as SCORE’s CEO and President.

SCORE-Logo-12-20-11SAN DIEGO — Finalists have been determined and online voting among the top three in each category will continue until11:59 p.m. next Wednesday, Dec. 11 for the 2013 SCORE Off-Roadsman Awards. Four decades of the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization-SCORE International-will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 14 at San Diego’s Town & Country Resort during the 2013 SCORE Awards Night gala.

At the Town & Country, located in the hotel circle area of central San Diego, nearly 400 SCORE racers, family, friends, crews, sponsors and media will bask in the Southern California sunshine as the SCORE Awards Night will honor the 40-year history and fame of the name which is the standard for desert racing worldwide. The event is open to fans as well and the evening will include enhanced technical theatrics and pageantry never before part of the SCORE Awards Night.

Emcees for the evening will be desert racing stars Cameron Steele and Johnny Campbell.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.—BFGoodrich Tires, KTM, tire rep Jeff Cummings, racer Steven Strobel, and mechanic Mike Stapleton were among the big winners Saturday night as SCORE International officially concluded the five-race 2012 SCORE Desert Series with the annual SCORE Awards Night in SoCal at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Newport Beach.

SCORE Off-Roadsman of the Year awards were presented in 11 categories along with the 16 winners of the SCORE Toyota Milestone Awards and the class and overall point champions of Sal Fish’s five-race 2012 SCORE Desert Series.

In front of an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 400 and a worldwide audience via the live webcast of the festivities, the evening was also a celebration of 39 years of SCORE championship desert racing.  Following the lengthy salute to the stars of the 2012 SCORE Desert Series, SCORE President/CEO Sal Fish officially ended the historic evening by formally turning over the original SCORE International, founded in 1973, to new SCORE owner Roger Norman.

BFGoodrich Tires, the official tire of SCORE for 37 years was honored as the 2012 SCORE Contingency Company of the Year and the 2012 SCORE Pit Support Team of the Year. It was the 22nd time BFGoodrich Tires has been voted the SCORE Contingency Company of the Year and it was the 24th time that BFGoodrich Tires has been voted the SCORE Pit Support Team of the Year.
