Jeeps aren't known for being super aggressive in the sand but you'd never know it if you saw this guy out tearing up the dunes in his supercharged JKThis supercharged JK isn’t slowed down by the sand even a little bit, no doubt thanks to the whining supercharger under the hood.

crunchAnyone who’s ever jumped a sand dune has probably gone bigger and farther than they anticipated.

Smooth UTV JumpWhat is it that makes the perfect UTV dune jump?

Sand Car water wheelie
We’ve seen plenty of videos of different machines hydroplaning across water, but we’ve never seen a sand car wheelie while hydroplaning. This is what it looks like to have more horsepower than you know what to do with.

Pismo ATV Dune Jump
Over the last decade, throngs of off-road enthusiasts have made the switch from ATVs to UTVs, so much so that on a busy holiday weekend you’re likely to see far more UTVs than ATVs almost anywhere you go. That being said, this video of a huge ATV dune jump shows us that there are still a handful of diehards out there that haven’t given up that ATV life.

Off-road Spectators
We’ve all got that one friend who’s never driven off-road that comes out of nowhere after finishing a big project and asks, “So ya gonna let me take her for a spin?” This guy should have seen it coming. Choose your friends carefully, and if your off-road rookie buddy wants to go for a ride, remind him or her that’s what passenger seats are for.

Dune Season Feature
If you live in the southwest, the summer drought rears its ugly head in more ways than one. When the weather finally breaks and it’s time to load up and head for the dunes we tend to get a little excited.  This video pretty much sums up how we feel when we’re getting ready for dune season and our first real trip of the season.

What happens when you combine a snowmobile and an ATV? The answer, if all goes well, is the ultimate duning machine – the Sand-X T-ATV.

Sand-X built the T-ATV to handle the sand dunes better than any traditional ATV ever could. At first glance, the T-ATV looks very much like a snowmobile with a set of front wheels, but surely there’s more to it than that. The unit features an 800cc 2-stroke Rotax snowmobile engine that offers a claimed 160hp. Sand-X claimes the T-ATV can reach speeds in excess of 110 mph, but that seems a little generous to us.

According to the designer, the T-ATV is faster and safer than any other sand vehicle and offers a range of up to 215 miles between fill-ups. Again, that seems like a lofty claim, but we can’t say it’s not true until we try it.

Of course trying the Sand-X T-ATV might be difficult. Operations are currently based in the Middle East and we haven’t heard anything about one of these units coming to North America.

Check out more photos and a video of the T-ATV in action below the jump.
