Cherokee current
We would never recommend trying to drive a vehicle through swift moving water…unless of course your machine of choice is a remote control car.  The owner of this Jeep Cherokee RC car isn’t afraid of a little water.

Frozen River
Crossing a frozen river anytime is a risky move but even more so when spring is inching closer and the snow and ice are beginning to melt.  This guy is undeterred from doing a little ice crawling despite the apparent risk.  (Even if it is just an RC car.)

Real Or Fake feature

Remote control vehicles have come a long way from the days when the controller was connected to the vehicle by a wire. Nowadays they’ve become so realistic it can be hard to tell the difference between an off-road RC car and a real off-road vehicle. Here are a few awesome photos of very realistic off-road RC cars.

Team Associated is very lucky to have so many friends and partners that are both inside and outside of the R/C community. When Volcom’s Carl Holm and Troy Powell tapped Team Associated to be a part of the Volcom Stone’s Totally Crustaceous Tour we were stoked to be involved!

Volcom Stone’s Totally Crustaceous Tour is like an ‘anti-surf’ tour that is free to enter and puts the focus on having a lot of fun. The tour travels the world and includes several divisions for Squids (10 & under), Groms (14 & under), Juniors (17 & under), Girls (25 & under), Pro-Amateur (18 & up) and Air (invitational).

While the focus of the Totally Crustaceous Tour is all about fun, these kids are also highly competitive because there are lots of great prizes up for grabs, including surfboards, snowboards, skateboards, bicycles, motorcycles, jet skis, video games, and for a couple of very special winners, a Team Associated SC10 Ready-To-Run!

The Volcom Stone’s Totally Crustaceous Tour started in July of 2010 and will conclude this weekend on May 13-15, 2011 with the VQS World Champs in Newport Beach, CA.

If you’re in the area this weekend and looking for some fun in the sun, you might want to cruise down to Newport Beach and check out Volcom Stone’s Totally Crustaceous Tour finally!

If you can’t make it to the beach Volcom has you covered with a three day live webcast where they will be giving away a Team Associated SC10 RTR each day online along with a bunch of other great prizes! So, be sure to check out all of the action of the VQS World Champs Live Webcast online: www.volcom.com/vqschamps/2011/videos.html and stay stoked!
