Anaheim, Calif. – GBC Motorsports athletes were out at Glen Helen Raceway in Devore, CA this past weekend for the seventh round of the 2013 WORCS Racing season. With a class victory, five podium finishes and a class championship, GBC racers put their tires and machines to the test and passed with high-flying colors.
It might have been the first WORCS race for GBC newcomer Cody Bradbury, but he wasted no time in getting down to business by jumping straight into the SXS Pro Production class. Bradbury rolled his Mongrel-equipped Polaris RZR to the line, and by the time the dust settled Bradbury crossed the line in 2nd place. The rest of the GBC riders in the Pro class did not fare as well in Round 7, but Tim Wyatt and RJ Anderson are both poised for top-5 season finishes with just two rounds remaining.

The XP1K project was announced a week ago in conjunction with the release of the 2014 Polaris RZR XP1000 off-road vehicle by Polaris Industries at their annual dealer show. The official XP1K trailer was released on XP1K.com shortly after, followed by a teaser clip that was hosted by project partner Falken Tire. Both clips highlight the unique nature of the project, and feature arresting images of both the XP1K vehicle and the unforgiving, destructive backdrop that served as the location for filming.
San Diego, CA – The Martelli Brothers and their production team Mad Media – known internationally for their work producing and directing the first three Gymkhana videos…have done it again. Their new viral video campaign with UTVUnderground.com – dubbed “XP1K”, begins today with the worldwide launch of the films trailer, and continues with the full video release Monday, August 5th on XP1K.com. The project is being timed with the release of the ground breaking 2014 Polaris RZR XP1000 off-road vehicle by Polaris Industries, which made it’s public debut this week at the Polaris dealer show in Washington D.C.
For the production of XP1K, Mad Media and UTVUnderground.com teamed up, and tapped off-road race champion and factory Polaris Pro UTV racer RJ Anderson to pilot their custom built 2014 Polaris RZR XP1K vehicles. The result is a seven and a half minute blitz of off-road action, jaw dropping stunts, and dynamic precision driving by RJ – laid against the unforgiving, post-apocalyptic backdrop of an abandoned iron mine near Desert Center, CA.
Although information on 2014 Polaris models was not to be released to the public until next week, Off-Road.com sister site ATV.com uncovered information about a potential new RZR that could be a 2014 model. What’s notable is its industry-leading horsepower figures.
According to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) figures releases earlier this month, Polaris’ new RZR XP 1000 and XP 4 1000 will produce a whopping 107 horsepower from the 999cc engine that will power the units. We assume this will be a 2014 model, but we don’t have confirmation from Polaris since they have not released any information on 2014 units. As ATV.com notes regarding the U.S. EPA test figures, “Power output was listed at 80 kilowatts, which translates to a whopping 107 horsepower.”
Note: The images included in this post are of the 2013 models. No official information has been released from Polaris regarding its 2014 units at present.
Minneapolis – After placing off the podium at The John Penton, William Yokley was back on top in his Polaris / Coastal / CST / National Guard / Yoshimura / Yokley Racing RZR XP 900 taking the win at The Mountaineer, in Masontown, West Virginia. Yokley’s teammate, Scott Kiger, steered his RZR XP 900 to a third place finish. RZRs finished in the top three spots in the XC1 Modified class.
Yokley and Kiger both started well and tackled the rocky terrain by choosing good lines. Their fast, consistent laps gave them both podium finishes and put Yokley back on top in class points going into the summer break, with Kiger sitting in striking distance in third.
The next GNCC UTV Race is Powerline Park, in St. Clairsville, Ohio, on October 20.
Yokley Racing is sponsored by Polaris Industries, Coastal Racing, CST, Army National Guard, Yoshimura, Holz Racing Products, OMF, Walker Evans, Fluidyne, Beard Seats, Tireballs, SustainU and Big Country Powersports.
