ITP-Race-Report-9-18-13Ontario, California – Team ITP ATV and side-by-side racers competed in both the World Off-Road Championship Series and the New England ATV Motocross series this past weekend, and came away with three class victories. Justin Lambert of Cognito Motorsports drove his side-by-side to the round eight win in the WORCS SxS Production 850 class in Milford, Calif. Across the country, ITP ATV MX Pro Josh Creamer won both two classes at round 10 of the NEATV-MX series in Maine.

“Our ITP-supported side-by-side racers had a good showing at the Honey Lake WORCS race as Justin Lambert and Sara Price both reached the SxS Production 850 class podium and we finished fourth overall in the challenging SxS Pro Production class,” said Pat McGuire, Public Relations / Race Support. “ATV Pro Josh Creamer continued his dominance in the NEATV motocross series with another convincing sweep of both pro-level classes in Maine.”

ITP-GNCC-Unadilla-9-10-13Ontario, California – Team ITP ATV racers won seven classes at round 10 of the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country series, which was making its return after a two-month summer break. ITP Pro Adam McGill finished fifth in the XC1 Pro class, and Dave Simmons won his age class and earned third overall on the morning podium at the Can-Am Unadilla event.

“ITP GNCC racers came out of the summer break with championship determination, winning seven total classes. We had seven total victories, but we’re in the running for at least eight GNCC championships this year with plenty of racing remaining,” said Pat McGuire, Public Relations / Race Support. “Our veteran racers, led by Dave Simmons, had an outstanding Saturday at Unadilla, winning the A/B 40+, 45+, 50+ and the 35+ C ”

Creamer-ATV-ITP-Off-Road-8-14-13Ontario, California – Team ITP ATV and side-by-side racers competed in both the 2013 AMA Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series and the World Off-Road Championship Series this past weekend. At the final round of the ATV MX series in Tennessee, ITP-supported racers won four classes, earned more than a dozen podiums and wrapped up eight individual amateur national championships. ITP side-by-side pilots earned two podiums at Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California.

“We’re very pleased about winning eight amateur AMA ATV motocross national championships. We could have had more titles, as we had 15 runner-up finishes and seven third-place finishes as well, but that’s racing. Our riders battled to the very end with their ITP tires and we’re proud of all their efforts and the titles,” said Pat McGuire, Public Relations / Race Support. “Our racers had a bit of bad luck at the WORCS event in California, but we still came away with a couple podium finishes, including John Pacheco’s third-place run in the challenging SxS Pro Production class.”

Josh-Creamer-ITP-Tires-Off-Road-7-10-13Ontario, California, July 10, 2013 – Team ITP racers won seven classes and earned a total of 21 podiums at round seven of the 2013 Mtn. At round six of the UTV Rally Raid Northern Series, Kyle Chaney (JB Racing / ITP) drove his ITP Terracross-equipped side-by-side vehicle to victory in Oliver Springs, Tenn.

“Our ITP ATV racers once again put in an outstanding effort, winning seven classes and recording numerous podium finishes. After seven rounds in the books, our riders are in the running for several class championships and that fact alone validates the performance and design of our tires,” said Pat McGuire, Public Relations / Race Support. “Team ITP racer Kyle Chaney put in an outstanding performance in wet, muddy conditions to win another off-road event with Terracross tires.”

COSHOCTON, OH– After this weekend’s John Penton event, it is time for summer break! “I know the summer break is welcomed and in most cases needed” commented McNemar, owner of Greg’s ATV & Cycle “but the break is bitter sweet for our team as we are anxious to get back out there and make up for this past weekend.”

In the Women’s class Angel Atwell was able to grab a great start following only her niece Kristen into the first corner. She was able to gain the lead and would retain it for nearly the entire first lap. At the end of that first lap Angel’s quad would begin to bog down and back fire which would, unfortunately, lead to her machine completely dying on the course early in the second lap. The culprit would be unforeseen electrical problems which the team has already addressed and corrected. With this finish, Angel is currently 3rd in the Women’s class points standing’s.

As if Angel’s electrical problems were not enough, the Greg’s ATV Team would struggle in the afternoon event as well. Gabe Phillips would get off to a decent start only to get tangled up and take a nasty spill in the second corner. The entire XC2 class would be long gone by the time he was able to get himself and his machine going again. Gabe would put in a remarkable ride; he would pick riders off one by one as the day progressed. He would end the day just shy of the podium in 4th place. Pat McGuire would put in another solid ride, holding onto 2nd for the majority of the afternoon. On the last lap Pat would continue to push forward only to throw a chain, which ended his day with a 16th place finish. Matt Hanna also had a great race going only to lose a battery mid way through the event. He was able to come into the pits where the team was able to make the needed repair but the damage had been done. He would push forward to salvage as many points as possible, he would finish 7thfor the day.

On a positive note, Greg’s ATV support rider Mike Lancaster earned his first PM Race Podium finish with a 3rd in the XC2 class. Over the course of the past few years Greg’s ATV has helped many riders earn their first ever national podium appearance in the XC2 class including Gabe Phillips, Matt Hanna, Pat McGuire and now they have added Mike to that list.

“Although this had to be collectively one of the worst races of the year for our team we are still holding our heads high” commented McNemar “it was a shame we were struck with the bad luck so close to home but we will utilize the break to better ourselves and come back swinging in September.”
