Andrew-Delong-Off-Road-GNCC-9-16-13Murrieta, CA – September 16, 2013 - After last week’s big win at the Unadilla GNCC, Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna’s Andrew DeLong was hungry for more, and came to Lynnville, Indiana with every intention of getting his TXC310R on the podium. After a hard day in the saddle, Andrew was carded with a third-overall finish at the Black Coal National Enduro.

On his way to the podium, DeLong managed to take his first-ever test win in the National Enduro Series. (Andrew won the Texas National Enduro but did not score a test win that day.) Following his victory on test four, AD had a setback on test five when he went over the bars in a slow-motion crash. The fumble cost him valuable seconds, and he slipped from third to fourth-overall by a slim margin. But DeLong headed into the last test of the day determined to regain his podium position.

“My crash in test five was the slowest over-the-bar crash I’ve ever had,” DeLong said. “Test six was a little scary at the speed I was going. But I wanted to be on the podium!”

He started the day well securing the win in the first three special tests. At the end of the fourth test he had already accumulated a nearly one minute lead over the rest of the field. He was able to find his rhythm in the second test where he scored the fastest time. He then continued his streak to take the fastest time in the next two test sections.

Heading to the final test, Mullins had pulled himself out of his time deficit and was leading by 6 seconds on Lafferty. “I knew I had to have a great ride in the last section to hold on for the win,” commented Mullins. “Luckily, I rode a mistake free test and came out the fastest by 5 seconds.”

He kept his momentum going finishing second overall in the next three sections just seconds away from the top times. He found another burst of energy in the fifth and sixth tests where he again took the win in both sections to earn his fourth win of the season.

“It was a pretty muddy course today because of the rain but the course actually became pretty fun near the end when it began to dry up,” remarked Mullins. His Factory FMF/KTM Team Manager Antti Kallonen, also stated, “Mullins really turned it up in the final sections once he was able to gain more traction from the drier course. It allowed him to extend his lead as he worked his way toward another win.”

“I was definitely feeling confident today and my KTM 350 XC-F has been working perfectly so far this season,” remarked Mullins. “Unfortunately, I suffered two small crashes in the final test that kept me from earning a solid time in that section. After the crashes, I told myself to just relax and ride in safe so I could take home the win.”

Greensboro, GA – Factory FMF/KTM rider Charlie Mullins took the win at the opening round of the AMA National Enduro Series aboard his new KTM 350 XC-F.

Mullins made the switch to the four-stroke for the start of the National Enduro Series and it proved to be a great move for the former National Enduro Champion. He started the day off well winning the first two special tests in a dominating fashion. His big margin wins in the first two tests helped him set the pace for the remainder of the day that would eventually lead to his first victory of the season.

Never outside of the top three, Mullins finished 2nd in the third and fourth tests and then finished 3rd in the final two tests. He caught his brake pedal on a large tree root early in the fifth test which caused him to lose his rear brakes mid-way through that test. Luckily, he was still able to maintain a decent pace and finish that test inside the top three to avoid losing a large amount of time to the rest of the pack.

Corona, CA – November 5, 2012 – The Fred Andrews Racing FAR Husqvarna team faced a double-header this weekend with the GNCC series finale on Saturday followed by the final National Enduro of 2012 on Sunday. FAR Husky racers Andrew Delong and Nick Davis had their hands full between the two season-ending races, but managed to close out the year on a strong note.

The weekend started in Tennessee with the Loretta Lynn’s GNCC on Saturday. Andrew came into the last round of the season with one thing on his mind – WIN! Andrew and Nick both got out to a mid-pack start, but by the end of the second lap, Delong had worked his way into the lead. Nick was pushing his TC250 as hard as possible, and steadily working his way into the top-three.

Heading into the final lap, the FAR Husky team was looking at a 1-2 finish with Nick closing in on second place. While Andrew stayed in a solid lead, Nick’s day was about to take a turn for the worst. As Davis accelerated out of a turn his rear tire came off the rim. He was forced to head back to the pits for a new rear tire which relegated him to a 16th place finish.
