MX-Lucas-Oil-Motocross-5-29-13MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (May 29, 2013) – For the first time in 15 years, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will make a stop in the Southeast for the inaugural running of the Built Ford Tough Tennessee National. Taking place this Saturday, June 1, at the historic Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tenn., the highly anticipated Round 3 is sure to bring excitement to race fans throughout the south.

Muddy Creek Raceway has played host to some of the largest amateur motocross events in the country, making the third stop on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross tour somewhat familiar to many of the racers who grew up competing in the amateur ranks. Although the facility has undergone many changes to accommodate the Nationals, its natural-terrain, great dirt and rolling hills will showcase all the components that have made Muddy Creek Raceway such a successful venue over the years.

Morgantown, W.Va. – The ATV Promoters Group (ATVPG) announces today a change in the location of the opening round of the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series. Round one, originally scheduled for March 24-25 at Millcreek in Pell City, Ala., will now take place the same weekend at Aonia Pass Motocross in Washington, Ga.

“Aonia Pass proved last year that their facility is worthy of holding the opening round of ATVMX and it just makes sense to make the change to this location for 2012,” said Sam Gammon, Director of the ATVPG. ”

Aonia Pass MX will remain the host for round two of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series March 17 and 18, while the ATVMX will take place the following weekend, March 24 and 25.

“On behalf of the ATVPG, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. However, we hope series sponsors will find this move as the most convenient choice. Please find the revised 2012 schedule below,” Gammon added.

“The ATV promoters are excited to release the National ATVMX schedule for 2012,” said ATVPG Director Sam Gammon. “We have put a lot of consideration into creating a schedule that best accommodates riders and families, while still creating an exciting series that is worthy of its national status.”

For the first time in ATV Motocross history, the Ballance MX event in Kentucky will incorporate a night race into Saturday’s program, giving spectators even more opportunities to catch racing action at different parts of the day.

“The race in Kentucky will bring a whole new excitement factor to the series, as the pro show will be at night under the lights on Saturday,” Gammon added. “We are going to make every effort to keep the series fun and to give the racers a good value for their dollars spent.”

Last month, 2011 AMA ATV Pro Champion John Natalie Jr. was awarded his national title, along with the other AMA Pro award recipients, in conjunction with the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Racing Season Celebration in Pala, Calif.
