This weekend RedBud MX in Buchanan, Mich. hosted Round 9 of the 10-race series and it proved to be no different as the series crowned Chad Wienen the 2013 Pro National Champion after going 1-1 for the overall win of the weekend.

After going 1-1 for the day, Wienen not only took his eighth overall win of the season but secured his second consecutive National Championship a round early aboard his Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer machine.

Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series, sanctioned by AMA, winds down, the circuit heads to the legendary RedBud MX in Buchanan, Mich. this weekend, July 27 and 28, for Round 9 of the 10-race series. This Saturday, the nation’s top pros will go to battle for the overall win in the Pro Class, but points leader Chad Wienen has his sights set on capturing a second consecutive championship at the penultimate round of racing.

Illinois native Chad Wienen will once again perform in front of his hometown family and friends on the familiar Midwest terrain aboard his Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer machine. Wienen won the 2012 National Championship after returning to action only nine months after undergoing back surgery in June of 2011. Since then, Wienen has bounced back to claim seven of the eight overall wins in 2013, where he holds a commanding lead over the rest of the field heading into Round 9.

Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series, sanctioned by AMA. Defending Champion, Chad Wienen secured his sixth consecutive overall win as Josh Creamer and John Natalie returned to the podium in New York.

“I’m so thankful for the season I’ve been having so far it’s been a lot of hard work and dedication. Holding onto the red points lead plate at the end of each race weekend is what keeps me motivated as we wind down on the season,” said Wienen.

Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, saw clear skies and nearly perfect race conditions as the series made its return to Steel City Raceway on Saturday. Defending champion Chad Wienen captured his fifth consecutive win of the season, while Pennsylvania native Joel Hetrick made his return to the podium with a second place finish and Thomas Brown rounded out the overall podium.

Although laps times were close, Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer’s Wienen grabbed the ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier Award during morning practice.

Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, once again put on a show for ATVMX fans despite undesirable weather conditions at Round 6. After steady rainfall prior to the weekend, the weather finally cleared for Saturday’s Pro race. The Bob “Smitty” Smith Memorial ATV National showcased tight racing all afternoon in Danville, Va., where series points leader and defending champion Chad Wienen claimed his fourth consecutive overall win of the season.

“I wish the weather was something we could control but I’m just really glad we have our mud set up dialed in and we have our machines working really well. You never know what is going to happen in the mud but I’m always thrilled to come out of a weekend that can go any which way on the box and still holding onto the red plate,” said Wienen.

Two-time national champion Joe Byrd snagged the moto 1 SSi Decals Holeshot award aboard his Joe Byrd Quad Riding School Dasa machine in front of a raging field. “I knew the start was going to be crucial and that I had to get a great jump. My machine was set up well and was really hooking up to pull me to top of the hill first,” said Byrd.

ATVMX-Logo-3-21-13MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (June 5, 2013) – As the hunt for the coveted National Championship continues in the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, the excitement on the racetrack makes this season one of the most contested championships in recent history. The fastest racers on four-wheels return to the northeast this weekend, June 8 and 9, to compete for the win at Round 6 of the 10-race series, deemed the Bob “Smitty” Smith Memorial ATV National.

Smitty was the series amateur referee and involved in the ATV community for over 10 years until he lost his battle to cancer late last year. Round 6 opening ceremonies at Birch Creek MX-Smitty’s hometown track-have been dedicated in memory of the late Bob Smith, who was a Danville local and always had a special place in his heart for the Birch Creek event.

The defending series champion and current points leader Chad Wienen is looking for his fourth consecutive overall win this weekend aboard his Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer machine. Wienen went 1-3 in front of his hometown crowd to grab the overall win last round but with competition high, there’s no telling who’s going to find that top spot in Virginia.

Dew ATV Motocross, sanctioned by AMA, put on quite a show for the fans at Round 5 of the 10-race series, which took place Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, Ill. Chad Wienen took his third consecutive overall win in front of his hometown crowd, but the 2012 champion had to work for the win as the racing was tight all afternoon.

Wienen grabbed the ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier of the morning aboard his Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer machine, lining himself up for the first gate pick of the day.

“I always look forward to the Sunset Ridge MX race, I have a ton of family and friends that come down to support me and it makes the weekend that much better! I knew getting a good gate pick for Moto 1 was important because we couldn’t tell what the weather was going to do, but I’m pumped on another overall and extending my points lead!” said Wienen.

Baldwin Motorsports PEP Upperman Racing rider Josh Upperman snagged the SSi Decals Moto 1 Holeshot Award. Upperman lead the field out of the first turn but it wasn’t long before the 2011 Champion John Natalie made the pass into the leading position. Natalie’s MotoSport.com Motoworks DWT machine came out of the first turn in second and was on a mission to grab the front spot.

Wienen-ATVmx-5-13-13ROSSVILLE, Ind. - The ATVMX Pros left a statement at the series’ first-ever race at Wildcat Creek MX as Round 4 of the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, took to Rossville, Ind. With a fast rack, close racing and a full gate of pro riders, the inaugural event made for yet another exciting round of racing.

The Wildcat Creek MX track conditions were fast and smooth as the pros went out for the morning’s practice session where Joel Hetrick grabbed the ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier Award, taking first gate pick heading into the first moto.

Josh Upperman, aboard his Baldwin Motorsports PEP Upperman Racing machine, grabbed his first SSi Decals holeshot award of the 2013 season in moto 1. But it wasn’t long before Hetrick, who came out of the first turn in second place, found his way around Upperman to take over the lead. From there, Hetrick found a comfortable pace in front of the rest of the field and was able to maintain the lead in order to take the moto 1 win.

“I was really happy with my moto 1 win. I had a lot of fun out on the track and our team really had my machine working well,” said Hetrick.

Coming off of his podium finish at Round 3, John Natalie had another great start in moto 1, rounding the first turn inside the top five on his MotoSport.com Motoworks DWT machine. The 2011 National champ charged hard and made a quick pass on Upperman for the number two position. Trying to make up some ground on Hetrick, Natalie put his head down but was unable to match the speed of Hetrick, finishing second place in moto 1.

Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, Maxxis Bluegrass National concluded at Ballance Moto X  mother nature seemed to once again be the  twenty-first rider lining up on the gate. Even with spring weather rolling in, defending champion Chad Wienen not only took the overall with a 1-3 finish but extended his points lead at Round 3 of the 10-race series this weekend.

Wienen grabbed the ATVRiders.com Fastest Qualifier Award aboard his Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer machine. Wienen secured the first gate pick position before the rain rolled in during the first qualifier of the morning. “I knew the first practice was going to be the most important in securing my qualifier time because once the rain came in, the track was going to be slick and times would be slower. I was really happy to have that first gate pick because when rain is a factor the start is crucial,” said Wienen.

Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, heats up, the nation’s fastest motocross racers on four-wheels head to Bowling Green, Ky. for Round 3 of the 10-race series. The Maxxis Bluegrass National will play host to the next stop on the tour April 27 and 28 at the nationally renown Ballance Moto X racetrack.

Joel Hetrick, one of the youngest championship contenders on the circuit, took the overall win at Round 2 by sweeping both motos on his Corrosion Hetrick Racing machine, closing the gap on the series points leader Chad Wienen, now trailing by one. With the speed and determination to lead the field, the twenty-year old has proven he has what it takes to contest the championship.
