Toyo-Tires-Logo-5-16-11SPARKS, NV – Defending Pro 4 Unlimited Class Champion, Kyle LeDuc and Toyo Tires, swept Rounds 11 and 12 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series last weekend at the Wild West Motorsports Park near Reno, NV.  LeDuc’s 900+ horsepower #99 Monster Energy / Toyo Tires Ford F-150 proved unstoppable as he made his way through the thundering field of short course race trucks on the 1.2-mile track to win on both Saturday and Sunday.

During Saturday’s Round 11, he posted a fastest lap at 81.273-mph; and then returned with an even faster 82.542-mph in Sunday’s Main Event.  This is his third consecutive win, having won Round 10 at Glen Helen in San Bernardino, CA in July.  LeDuc has now captured six podium finishes in 2013 (three second-place and three first place wins), as he pursues a repeat of his 2012 championship.  Kyle LeDuc attributes much of his success to his Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires.

Lucas-Oil-Logo-11-21-11Sunday is often the day when the action really unfolds here in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, presented by GEICO, and today, that was certainly true. Here at Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, NV, just east of Reno, the skies were clearing after a couple of days of substantially smoky skies thanks to nearby wildfires, and the passionate local fans again packed the stands to watch a festival of horsepower.

Points battles are really heating up in all the classes, and while some of the frontrunners found continued good fortune this weekend, others hit major pitfalls, and had to fight hard to make up lost ground.

Monster-Villopoto-Off-Road-8-19-13Corona, Calif. (August 17, 2013) – After clinching his 2013 Monster Energy Supercross title one round early at the Salt Lake City stop, Monster Energy’s Ryan Villopoto provided a sense of deja vu when he collected enough points with his seventh overall victory to clinch his second Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 450 Class championship one round early at the inaugural event at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Villopoto’s second moto wasn’t much different as he quickly put a gap of his rival Ryan Dungey and rode to his ninth professional championship.

Blazusiak-Endorocross-X-games-8-5-13Poland’s Taddy Blazusiak earned his second Los Angeles X Games Enduro X gold medal in three years by riding a flawless main event. The KTM rider withstood heavy pressure first from his teammate Mike Brown and later from Colton Haaker on the Lucas Oil JCR Honda but both riders made mistakes that allowed Blazusiak to hold a narrow gap to the finish.

Brown recovered from a few small mistakes to take the silver medal and Beta’s Cody Webb rode a consistent race to take the bronze medal in his first race back from a broken foot. Haaker finished fourth and Monster Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert took fifth.

Casey-Currie-Lucas-Oil-8-1-13CORONA, Calif. – Casey Currie and the Monster Energy/General Tire team were at the top of their game this past weekend in San Bernardino, Calif., as Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2013 Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORS) were raced under the lights at Glen Helen Raceway. Currie’s Monster Energy/General Tire Jeep JK was a force to be reckoned with during both nights of Pro Lite action and ended the weekend with one of his best outings of the season, highlighted by a runner-up effort on Sunday. The performance vaulted Currie back into the Pro Lite title hunt with five rounds of racing remaining.

Due to the special nature of the first of two weekends of night racing this season the format for track time was altered, resulting in a loaded day of action on Friday. Currie began the weekend with practice on Friday morning and set up his truck for the pair of qualifying sessions scheduled for later that afternoon. Friday’s first qualifying session set the grid for Round 9 on Saturday evening and Currie got the weekend off to a strong start by qualifying fourth. Just a few hours later, Currie returned to the track to earn his starting spot for Round 10 on Sunday night, getting even more out of the Jeep JK to post the third-fastest time.
