Geico-Endurocross-New-4-10-13Sacramento, CA – Mike Brown kept his streak going at round two of the 2013 GEICO AMA EnduroCross series, fueled by Monster Energy and presented by Lucas Oil inside the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California. The FMF KTM rider had a nearly perfect day by setting the fastest time during the daytime hot laps, winning his heat race and finishing a close second in the night time hot laps before leading every lap of the main event. “I have started the season really well but there is still a long ways to go for the championship” Brown said. “But this is like getting the holeshot on the season”.

Monster Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert was a very close second in the main event and kept the pressure on for the entire main event. He ate a lot of roost off of Brown’s rear wheel and eventually had to remove his goggles. “I just could not see because Brown was roosting me every lap when we exited the water hole.”

The battle for third was intense as RPM KTM’s Kyle Redmond held the spot for several laps before giving way to Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder. Then Graffunder came under intense pressure from Taddy Blazusiak and Colton Haaker, who had both moved through the pack after going down on the start. Haaker passed Blazusiak and made a last lap pass attempt on Graffunder and went down in the firewood pit. Graffunder held the final podium spot, Blazusiak passed the downed Haaker for fourth and Haaker recovered for fifth.

Villopoto-Motocross-Win-6-8-13MT. MORRIS, Pa. – After two consecutive days of rain in southern Pennsylvania, the 37th running of the GEICO High Point National shaped up as a great day of racing at the historic High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris. Ryan Villopoto extended his points lead in the 450 Class after sweeping both motos to secure his third victory of the season at Round 4 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. Marvin Musquin rode on to his second straight victory in the 250 Class this season after taking his first career moto-win in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto returned to his winning ways on Saturday after finishing third overall at the last round. In Moto 1, Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Justin Barcia grabbed his fourth Motorcycle Superstore Holeshot of the season, but it didn’t take long for Villopoto to take command of the lead on the opening lap.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Tyla Rattray got off to a third place start in Moto 1, while Lucas Oil/Troy Lee Designs/Honda’s Malcolm Stewart jumped in close behind. Malcolm experienced a crash that dropped him out of podium contention, while Rattray maintained his third place position in the early portion of the race.

Mike-Johnson-Alumi-Craft-Baja-500-6-5-13Ensenada, Baja California, MX – Alumi Craft takes another victory at the Tecate SCORE Baja 500, their second Baja 500 win in a row. Alumi Craft racer Mike Johnson dominated the field of 22 class 10 cars during the grueling 500 mile race. Every Alumi Craft car that entered finished the race giving them four positions total in the top ten.

“We couldn’t be happier with our Alumi Craft chassis,” said Mike Johnson, “The package we have with Radar Tires, FOX shocks, Dave Folts Transmission and Danzio power is perfect. I have a 2008 Alumi Craft prerunner that I am really happy with. When my partner Mike Majesky and I were looking to get into class 10 we knew we wanted an Alumi Craft. I think they are well above everyone else in quality and design. I like the lightweight feel with no sacrifice in the strength department which comes from their applied knowledge of car building.”

Taking place this Saturday, June 1, at the historic Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tenn., the highly anticipated Round 3 is sure to bring excitement to race fans throughout the south.

Muddy Creek Raceway has played host to some of the largest amateur motocross events in the country, making the third stop on the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross tour somewhat familiar to many of the racers who grew up competing in the amateur ranks. Although the facility has undergone many changes to accommodate the Nationals, its natural-terrain, great dirt and rolling hills will showcase all the components that have made Muddy Creek Raceway such a successful venue over the years.

Short-Hangtown-MX-2013-5-24-13May 24, 2013 – Encinitas, CA – Not only was Donnie Hansen a national Supercross, Motocross and MX des Nations champion, but an important part of our motocross DNA. After his lucrative racing career Donnie went on to become a coach and trainer, and has made an impact on countless competitors in our sport. This weekend, during the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in Thunder Valley, Colorado, Donnie Hansen will present the Legends to Heroes award to one of those he mentored, Andrew Short.

Short is a veteran top competitor in the Pro Motocross ranks, and throughout his racing career the Colorado native has demonstrated boundless talent and determination. His ability to persevere is evident by his actions this past year, regaining momentum as a fan favorite on his BTO KTM. Andrew, also known as “Shorty,” is recognized as one of the “good guys” of motocross, always willing to take time for his many appreciative fans and supporters. His humble demeanor is predominantly due to the fact that Shorty had to fight his way to the top, and he truly values everything that he’s accomplished.

Sheldon Creed at LOORRS Lake Elsinore 2013The Prodigy” Sheldon Creed and the OCCR crew defended their home turf this past weekend at both the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and Robby Gordon’s Stadium Super Trucks Series.

One of the hardest things about being an off road racer is the time and commitment that it really takes in order to win, even more difficult is living up to the nickname “The Prodigy” at just 15 years of age.  Going into Round 5 Sheldon Creed was sitting uncomfortably in 11th place over-all in the Championship Points standings and he was well aware of the fact that he would have to make up some valuable ground at Lake Elsinore for Rounds 5&6 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.

Kicking off the weekend, Sheldon Creed turned the fastest lap time for the Pro Lite division and would earn himself and the #74 Pro Lite a front row seat for the main event.  As if that wasn’t a big enough task for the young Creed, Sheldon and the OCCR crew had to work twice as hard this weekend in an attempt to take on 27 of the fastest Pro Lites in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series as well as some of the most elite off-road veterans in the sport at Robby Gordon’s Stadium Super Trucks Series at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.  Continuing his hot streak, Creed was able to pull off the fastest qualifying time at SST beating out none other than NASCAR superstar Robby Gordon, making it two for two.
