A busy weekend on the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series led to many successes for Brian Deegan and his line of #38 trucks. The originally scheduled events for Lake Elsinore were Round 15, the last regularly scheduled race of the season, and the Cup Races. However, due to weather cancellation at Las Vegas, Round 14 would be contested on Saturday morning of Lake Elsinore. To add to this busy weekend, Deegan would also be running three events, making his Pro 4 debut in Round 15.
Tonka, manufactured and licensed by Funrise Toy Corp., under license from Hasbro, made its debut in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series last year, sponsoring Pro 2 driver Myan Spaccarelli of Simi Valley, Calif.
Fort Mill, SC – October 31, 2013. The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) came to a close at Lake Elsinore last weekend but not before fans were treated to some of the best racing of the season, and Team GT was right in the middle of it. Capping off the weekend, Team GT veteran, Carl Renezeder, claimed his ninth short course championship winning the Pro-4 class championship handily.
“Congratulations to Carl and everyone on his team,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for General Tire. “Carl is the epitome of a champion and we couldn’t be more proud to have him representing the General Tire brand in LOORRS. To win a ninth career championship is quite an accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication that Carl and every member of his team put in to their racing.”
Greenville, SC – Over a two weekend stretch, drivers on BFGoodrich Tires® claimed 12 wins in Pro Class short course off road racing. With seven wins and 22 podiums, BFGoodrich Tires took the weekend at Rounds 4-6 of the Traxxas TORC Series at Bark River, Mich. Racers on BFGoodrich Tires captured six Optima Fastest Lap awards out of the total eight races on the weekend.
The long and high jumps that Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park is known for played a key role in passing and needed toughness of trucks and tires to withstand the door-to-door action as well as the impact and hard turning created at the track.
LAKE FOREST, CA – The scorecard at the end of the opening weekend of racing for Carl Renezeder said three wins and one second out of four races. That kind of near-perfection doesn’t come around often, and the team was wise to pause for a moment on Sunday night to thank one another for the hard work, dedication and optimism during the off-season that paid off all weekend.
“You guys gave me reliable, fast trucks that I could put anywhere I wanted to on the track,” commented Renezeder to his crew at the close of rounds one and two of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series season at Firebird International Raceway this past weekend. “I’m really proud of this team.”

“While it’s unfortunate that Speedworld is closing, we are pleased to announce that we’re returning to one of our drivers’ favorite tracks, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway,” said Ritchie Lewis, the new Series Director of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. “The Las Vegas Motor Speedway has always been an exciting destination for our events, with a great track that’s been the site of many epic battles.”
In addition to moving the venue to Las Vegas, Lucas Oil will also move the race date back one week, from April 20 and 21 to Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28, 2013.
Fort Mill, SC – It was a wild finish to the 2012 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) season at Firebird International Raceway that saw General tires drive Carl Renezeder to two more wins to wrap up the year. Team GT posted two wins and 10 podium finishes on the weekend as teams regroup and prepare for 2013. Overall General tires helped Team GT members to 11 wins and more than 40 podium finishes in 2012.
“Congratulations to all our teams on their accomplishments in 2012,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for General Tire. “Every member of Team GT has worked tirelessly this year to reach the top of the podium. Their dedication and determination is second-to-none and we’re looking forward to an even stronger run in 2013.”
“The Lucas Oil Challenge Cup is always crazy,” said Renezeder. “When you put money and bragging rights on the line without any championship implications, things can get out of hand. We had a perfect day and a perfect race, and that’s why we were able to win. We avoided the carnage and the truck was exactly how I love it – I could put it anywhere and it would work. I’m incredibly proud of our team and the way we’ve worked through the adversity of the first half of the season to finish with five wins over the last two events.”
