MORGANTOWN, W. Va. (November 28, 2012) — MX Sports Pro Racing has announced that professional women’s motocross racing will again be featured at the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. WMX racing will be hosted at three select rounds next summer, with the Hangtown Motocross Classic (Sacramento, Calif.), the High Point National (Mt. Morris, Pa.) and Moto-X 338 National (Southwick, Mass.) selected to compose what will be officially known as the Women’s Pro Motocross Triple Crown.

“The number of 2013 events featuring women’s pro motocross has been reduced from past years due to operational demands associated with both the live events and the television and internet broadcasts for the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship,” said Roy Janson, Director of Competition for MX Sports Pro Racing. “This limits the ability to feature women’s pro motocross as often as we did during the 2012 season. Even though there will be fewer events featuring women’s professional motocross racing, MX Sports is pleased to be able to include the competition at these three great venues.”

We’re excited to once again work with MX Sports to present one of 2013′s most-anticipated schedules.”

Morgantown, W. Va. (November 6, 2012) – This season marked an incredible year of racing in the 2012 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series. The 13-round series wrapped up last weekend at the Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., where AmPro Yamaha’s Paul Whibley secured his second XC1 Pro class title, while KR4 Performance’s Jason Thomas clinched his first XC2 Pro Lites title on the motorcycle side. While XC1 Pro ATV champion Chris Borich wrapped up his fourth consecutive title earlier in the season, Tireballs-backed Patrick McGuire secured his first XC2 Pro Am championship at the season finale.

But the XC1 and XC2 class champions are just part of the 2012 GNCC Championship roll call. In GNCC, the afternoon race consists of not only Pro and Pro Am classes, but also the “A” and “B” classes – making for a fast-paced afternoon of racing from the first row to the last. On ATV’s, Brycen Neal claimed the competitive College A (16-21) class title by only six points over Landon Wolfe, finishing as the Top Amateur of the afternoon race. Other “A” class champions include Fred Marley in Junior A (22+), Todd Demaree in Vet A (28+) and Senior A (38+) champion Tom Wright.

Hurricane Mills, TN – Factory FMF/KTM rider Maria Forsberg earned her thirteenth straight win at the final round of the GNCC Series held at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Her win at the ranch marked the end to a perfect GNCC season.

Forsberg has already set multiple records this year. Forsberg won gold at Women’s EnduroX for the second straight year at the summer X-Games. She then went on to wrap up her GNCC championship the following weekend four rounds early. Later in the season she would become the first female rider to overall the morning class in the GNCC Series. And after thirteen straight wins, she ended her season with a perfect score.

The talented factory rider has set the benchmark again for fellow women racers with the completion of the perfect season. However, her season is not done. Forsberg will head to Las Vegas, NV in mid-November to compete in the final round of the AMA EnduroCross Series where she currently leads the EnduroCross Women’s point standings. A top three finish at that event would secure another championship for Forsberg who is well on her way to a perfect year.

Va. - The ATVPG is pleased to announce the success of this year’s 88 Live to Ride Benefit Auction, held at the final round of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series at Loretta Lynn’s. Debi Bartosek, President of 88 Live to Ride, said, “I would like to thank everyone who attended the dinner and auction at Loretta’s. Special thanks to ITP and Root River Racing for sponsoring the dinner, and to Stan “Big Daddy” Digby and his family for preparing and serving up the delicious spaghetti dinner.”

There was a wide and varied list of items to be auctioned and guest auctioneer, Rodney Tomblin, used his experience on the microphone to coax higher bids out of the audience. Some of the more memorable items were the hand crocheted blanket with AMA ATVMX Emblem, made by Jen Richards, that topped out at $3,000; Joel Hetrick race gear that went for $2,000; Jeremiah Jones jersey $1,650; PEP shocks $2,000; John Natalie one day riding school, jersey and a day of boating $3,650 and of course, the Podium Backdrop which fetched a whopping $8,000. All in all, this was the best auction ever raising over $33,000 for 88 Live to Ride, Inc.

The auction wouldn’t be possible without the help of dedicated volunteers – sincere thanks to: Erica, Chris & McKenna Peters; Lisa & Maci Devenport; Freida Rozelle; Missy & Maddie Guyer; Laura & Jeff Rastrelli and Debi Bartosek.

Valcourt, Québec – Can-Am® DS 450™ ATV Pro class racer John Natalie won the final round of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championship series held at Loretta Lynn’s Motocross track in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Natalie was joined on the podium by his Motoworks / Can-Am teammate Joel Hetrick, who finished second overall. Fellow Can-Am pro Josh Creamer finished fourth in the Pro class in Tennessee.

“I was pleased with the outstanding effort put in by John Natalie and Joel Hetrick here in Tennessee. Having them go 1-2, and also seeing Josh Creamer finish fourth, at the final round was awesome. Unfortunately, we came up a little short in our attempt to repeat as champions, but finishing second and third overall in the AMA ATV MX Championship points for 2012 is also something to be very proud of,” said Jimmie O’Dell, Race Manager, Can-Am. “We also had four AMA ATV MX National Championship amateur titles this season aboard Can-Am machines, as Travis Spader won three titles and Ries Parvin earned another.”
