This weekend the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) made its way back to the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park for rounds 3 and 4. The newly built track featured massive elevation changes, huge air, and unique dirt that provided a very unpredictable racing surface. The teams piled in on Thursday and prepared for the weekend battle that lay before them.

The weekend kicked off with the premier Pro-4 class. Team Associated’s Kyle LeDuc was looking to keep up his momentum after coming back from his sweep in rounds one and two in Firebird, AZ. When the green flag flew, Kyle took his front row starting spot and never looked back. Running away from the field, he gained a large lead and set into a comfortable pace and cruised into the checkered flag in the top spot once again. Following Kyle was the #10 of Greg Adler in second, and the #22 Hart and Huntington ride of Josh Merrell finished up in the third place.

TOOELE, UTAH – Team Toyo® Off-Road driver, Kyle LeDuc, scored his second consecutive Pro 4 Unlimited class victory this past Saturday during Round 7 of the Lucas Oil® Off-Road Series (LOORS) race at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.  His Toyo® Open Country M/T®-R equipped #99 Rockstar / Makita / Toyo Tires Ford F-150 was the truck to beat all weekend.  LeDuc qualified second on Saturday morning before taking the victory, and then qualified first during Round 8 on Sunday before going on to take second place that day.  His previous Pro 4 Unlimited class victory came during Round 6 at Glen Helen in May.

“Saturday’s win was the result of hard, clean racing, while setting a fastest lap of the race — all on my Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires,” said LeDuc.  “During Sunday’s race, I came from the back of the field twice to capture an exciting second place.  My fans were on their feet for that one.”

In addition to his wins and top qualifying spots in Pro 4 Unlimited, LeDuc qualified first on Saturday in the Pro Lite Unlimited class with off-the-shelf Toyo Open Country M/T tires.

TOOELE VALLEY, UTAH  – The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series returns to Miller Motorsports Park this weekend, June 25-26, and will have a brand-new, permanent track on which to compete.

Following last year’s very popular debut at Miller Motorsports Park, track officials decided to build a permanent, high-speed off-road facility to host the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and other off-road activities.

“We have developed a great relationship with Lucas Oil,” said John Larson, General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park, “and their race last year was so well received and generated such positive feedback that we decided to make the commitment to build them a permanent home at Miller Motorsports Park that can also be used for our other off-road events and activities.”

The track was designed and built in conjunction with the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, and promises to provide fans with even more excitement and spectacular racing.

“Miller Motorsports Park is a first-class facility in every respect,” said Bob Patison, Executive Vice President of Lucas Oil Products, Inc. “It is racer- and fan-friendly, with amenities typically not found at most race venues. The Miller group has made a commitment to the sport of Short Course Off Road Racing, as evidenced by the new purpose-built track.  Our Series Director, Tony Vanillo, designed the track to challenge the racers and provide the fans with an up-close experience that will not soon be forgotten.”

“We can’t wait to see the Lucas Oil trucks and buggies on the track,” said Larson. “We think the fans in Utah are going to love this facility, and that the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series could well be the fastest-growing event that we offer.

The track is just under a mile long, with large banked turns and the fastest straightaways of all the Lucas Oil Off Road tracks, plus a Mammoth Table Top and a six-pack rhythm section. Covered grandstands will provide guests with shade and a view of the entire course. VIP packages are also available.

As was the case last year, the action will be fast and furious, with high-flying vehicles going wheel to wheel and door to door, fighting for every inch of track space. The paddock will be open to spectators at no charge, and fans can chat with the teams and drivers while they prepare their vehicles. The series promotes a family-friendly atmosphere, and last year a number of lucky fans got to take home discarded pieces of bodywork autographed by the various drivers.

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event gets underway on Saturday, with a full schedule of practice, qualifying and main-event races for all 11 classes on each day. The gates will open at 10 a.m. on both days, with main-event races starting at 12:30 p.m. and on-track action ending by 6 p.m.

Adult tickets for this event are priced at $30 per day or $50 for a two-day pass. Tickets for kids aged 12 and under are priced at $10 per day or $15 for a two-day pass. Kids aged three and under will be admitted free of charge.

LAKE FOREST, CA – Not only did Carl Renezeder win three Lucas Oil Off Road Races this weekend, he came within 0.203 seconds of making a clean sweep of the Pro-2 and Pro-4 divisions, finishing second to Kyle LeDuc on Sunday in one of the best battles of the season.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve had a weekend like this,” commented a relieved Renezeder after the final race of the weekend.  “It just felt so good to be able to attack and battle this weekend.  I’ll remember these races for a long time.”

You’d have to go back to the first half of the 2009 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series season to find three wins in one weekend for Renezeder.  He did it on the inaugural weekend in Primm, Nevada, and then again in rounds five and six in Lake Elsinore, California, but neither of them had a second-place finish to round out the weekend like this last one did.

As the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) shifts into high gear for Rounds 3 and 4 this weekend at Speedworld Off Road Park on April 16th and 17th, Pro Lite driver Jimmy Stephensen has his sights set firmly on the top of the podium.  The Ironclad Energy + Hydration / Discount Tire Nissan driver has plenty of momentum behind him coming into Surprise, Arizona after two podium finishes in as many races this season.  “The competition was fierce at the season opener in Firebird, and there are a lot of new trucks and drivers to contend with,” Stephensen confessed. “With Deegan, Brandt, Ampudia, Currie, Cameron Steele, and Kyle Leduc all running in Pro Lite this year I feel ecstatic to be on the podium both days.”

The strong finishes at Firebird put the talented Stephensen in second place in season championship points in the highly competitive Pro Lite Unlimited class, just five points behind the leader.  “We made my nearly ten year old truck as new as possible in the off season with the help of Bruce Fraley and Kevin Avina, amongst others.  We proved that we can run with the best of the best!”
Jimmy Stephensen, 2009 LOORS Rookie of the Year, had one second place finish and set the fast lap in the Pro Lite class at Speedworld Off Road Park last season, so it is not unreasonable to believe that he will pull off his first Pro Lite victory at Speedworld next weekend in the No. 33 Ironclad Energy + Hydration / Discount Tire Nissan.  “The class restrictions in Pro Lite make for really close racing, so it is a great opportunity to showcase my driving skills,” Stephensen explains.  “Of course my Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S tires do give me an advantage over the competition,” he is quick to add with a sly grin.  Stephensen finished sixth in series points in Pro Lite in 2010 amongst a field of 24 talented drivers.  In addition to his second place finish at Speedworld last season, he also had a third place finish at Miller Motorsports Park and was on the podium twice in his hometown of Las Vegas in 2010.

CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA – Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. announced today it has extended its sponsorship of popular short course off-road racer Kyle LeDuc for a sixth year.  LeDuc, a member of Team Toyo® since 2006, will compete in two race truck classes in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series (LOORS) with his familiar #99 — Pro 4 Unlimited on Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires and Pro Lite Unlimited on off-the-shelf Toyo Open Country M/T rubber.  This marks LeDuc’s return to the highly competitive Pro Lite class.

Kyle LeDuc finished second overall in the 2010 Pro 4 Unlimited class championship in LOORS, winning the biggest race at season-end, the 2010 Rockstar Energy Challenge Cup — the Pro 2 Versus Pro 4 Cup Race.  He has won countless races in Pro 4 with his 800+ horsepower Rockstar/Makita/Toyo Tires Ford F-150, including the 2009 Borg Warner Cup in the TORC series.

“I can count on my Toyo tires to perform on the track and help me win races,” said Kyle LeDuc.  “This year is the year for double championships with Toyo Tires and Kyle LeDuc in Pro 4 and Pro Lite.”

“We are excited to have Kyle LeDuc competing on Open Country tires in both the Pro Lite Unlimited and Pro 4 Unlimited classes in 2011,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A.
