Kawasaki-Loretta-Lynns-8-6-13Irvine, Calif. – Facing a variety of track conditions and weather at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch this past week, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green accomplished five championships to conclude the 2013 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s.

Team Green’s Garrett Marchbanks won his second career championship in the 85 (9-11) class aboard his KX85 winning four of his six motos and Keith Johnson took the championship in the Senior (40+) class after dominating the first two motos and recovering from last to second place in the final moto to clinch the title. Kawasaki riders Adam Nickerson and Michael Mitchell both stayed consistent to win the 250 C Limited and Vet B/C (30+) titles and Tim Ferry successfully returned to the Ranch to win his eighth championship by sweeping the Junior 25+ class.

Irvine, Calif.  – Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Keith Johnson led the charge in Supercross on his KX™450F by sweeping both his classes on Wednesday. Johnson got two holeshots and went on to win the Plus 35 and Plus 40 Supercross Championships. Along with Johnson’s two championships, Team Green scored an additional 18 top-three finishes for a total 20 podiums.

The Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green trackside support program is available to all Kawasaki riders and is a fundamental portion of the success of Team Green. With approximately 250 Kawasaki class entries, Team Green provides emergency parts and expert technicians to assist any rider in need. Under the tent can be a very busy place filled with those in need of assistance as well as those just looking to hang out with familiar faces and bench race with friends.

Transitioning
With supercross now complete, the focus moves to the historic Gatorback motocross track as riders took to the track Wednesday afternoon for practice. Known for its multiple elevation changes through the “Gator Pit” and over the “Dinner Table”, the track is a favorite amongst most riders. Motos will begin Thanksgiving morning and continue into the holiday weekend.

Irvine, Calif. – Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert scored his fifth overall win of the 2012 World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS) at Round 8 of the series at Pala Raceway in Pala, Calif. Kawasaki riders swept the Pro class podium at the series’ inaugural event at Pala Raceway with Robert leading the charge aboard his KX450F with a 1-1 moto result. Monster Energy/THR/Precision Concepts/Kawasaki’s Robby Bell kept Robert honest both days of the action-packed event landing the runner-up spot on the podium with a 2-2 result. Rounding out the podium was Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Bobby Garrison who finished fifth on Saturday, but battled back through the field Sunday to secure third overall with a 5-3 result.

Trophy Hunter
After a top-five finish at the X Games Los Angeles EnduroX event, Robert was looking forward to getting back in the WORCS championship hunt. On Saturday, he got a good start and came around the first turn in second, but was able to quickly power his KX450F into the lead by the next turn. Robert checked out and took the checkered flag to earn his ninth moto win of the season. On Sunday, he ripped the holeshot on his KX450F and set a fast pace around the course. Although he briefly lost the lead to fellow Kawasaki rider Bell around the halfway mark, he was able to retake the lead to earn his fifth overall podium of the season. Robert continues to extend his lead in the championship standings and currently holds a 55-point lead on second.

Irvine, Calif. – Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green headed to Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainesville, Fla., to kick-off the 2011-2012 amateur race season at the 40th Annual Thor Winter National Olympics (Mini O’s) presented by Pro Circuit. The weather in Florida was hot and humid as usual, even with a day of rain that saturated the supercross track the night before the finals. The first half of the week racers competed on the supercross track and spent the second half of the week competing on the motocross track. In the supercross events, Team Green riders earned 11 championships, 13 runner-up spots, and 16 third-place finishes. On the motocross track, Team Green riders secured 9 championships, 12 runner-up spots, and 10 third-place finishes.

Shakedown
Every season the Mini-O’s marks the beginning of the amateur motocross race season. The event provides a proving ground for riders who have changed classes, bike sizes, or both. Team Green’s talented group of riders came to the event with brand new 2012 KX™ bikes looking to take over the podium. After a week of challenging racing on hardpacked Florida clay, Kawasaki riders emerged with 20 championships and a total of 71 overall podium finishes.
