Jeep Wrangler StitchJeep and Mopar will be showcasing its unique concept vehicles next week at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. Off-Road.com will be on hand to provide more in-depth coverage of the event, which is in its 47th year, along with a closer look at each of the Jeep-Mopar vehicles.

“Off-road enthusiasts will be pleasantly surprised by the range of Jeep models we’re bringing to this year’s Easter Jeep Safari,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “We go to this extremely popular event in Moab each year to showcase the latest production vehicles from Jeep, as well as a host of new customization and personalization ideas. In doing so, we connect with and receive a tremendous amount of feedback from our most loyal customers.”

LOS ANGELES – For more than seven decades, Jeep vehicles have defined the benchmark in rugged capability and utility. The most recognized of these vehicles has long been and still is the Jeep Wrangler, which has always provided an unmatched level of freedom resulting from the ability to traverse any trail, anywhere.

Ten years ago, for the 2003 model year, Jeep dramatically raised the bar in off-road capability with the introduction of the Wrangler Rubicon model. Named after one of the most grueling off-road trails in the world, the Rubicon models were the most extreme Wranglers ever produced. The 2005 model year saw the introduction of the Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited that brought more utility to the Rubicon’s quickly established off-road credentials. Over the last 10 years, the Wrangler Rubicon has won numerous prestigious awards including Four Wheeler magazine’s “4×4 of the Decade” honor for its unmatched level of all-around capabilities.

At a press conference in Santa Monica last week, Jeep gathered the media to make two major announcements – a new Wrangler model and a new partnership with USA Basketball for 2012.

First off, Jeep will offer a limited run of the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude. This monochromatic-styled Wrangler is based on the Unlimited Sahara model, offering body-color hardtop and black-gloss exterior parts that include the gas cap and wheels, to name a few. The unit will be available in Deep Cherry Red, Black or Bright White, and only 4,500 units of the 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Altitude will be available. It will be hitting showrooms next month.

“With a production run of only 4,5000 units, we expect the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude to sell out very quickly,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO of the Jeep brand.

Borrego Springs, CA - One of the hottest vehicles in the California market will find its way to one lucky winner courtesy of the Jeep brand and the Tierra Del Sol 4 Wheel Drive Club of San Diego.

2012 marks the 50 year anniversary of one of the largest and longest running annual Jeep events in the country, the San Diego-based Tierra Del Sol 4 Wheel Drive Club’s Desert Safari. In celebration of this milestone, Jeep has donated a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport to the club, which it has accessorized with parts from Mopar, Katzkin and Goodyear. For the next nine months, the up-fitted Wrangler will be transported to several locations and events throughout southern California, giving the club the opportunity to educate the public about land-use issues and sell raffle tickets for the vehicle’s eventual auction in December at the San Diego International Auto Show.

“We are honored to recognize Tierra Del Sol Four Wheel Drive Club and the 50th Anniversary of their Desert Safari event,” said Jason Stoicevich, Director, Chrysler Group LLC’s California Business Center. “For more than over 50 years, this club has been promoting the enjoyment and protection of our natural resources, family outdoor living and responsible trail use, values that the Jeep brand has also been supporting for more than 70 years.”

In conjunction with the release of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 video game, Jeep recently announced a special edition of the new Wrangler in the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition SUV. What’s more, Jeep will actually be giving away the very first vehicle that comes off the line!

This is the second year the Jeep brand has partnered with Activision on the Call of Duty franchise, and Jeep will be giving away, via its Facebook page, one of these unique MW3 Wranglers. Visitors to Jeep’s Facebook page can also enter more times by playing the Jeep Ops game there as well.

What’s more, for Off-Road.com readers we will be giving away a prize pack to one lucky person, which will include a “hardened” edition of the Modern Warfae 3 game, an MW3 Xbox 360 console and more. The prize pack given to one Off-Road.com reader will include:

1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Game, Hardened Edition (includes game, one-year membership into Elite, founder status, steelbook case, juggernaut outfit, field journal)
2. Special Edition Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 Console (plus controllers)
3. Wireless Headset
4. Gaming Chair
5. Jeep Messenger Bag
6. Jeep Fleece

The Jeep brand is taking consumers on a journey that blurs the lines of reality and the world of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” in its advertising and marketing campaign for the new 2012 Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition SUV.

The Jeep brand is launching an innovative campaign that encompasses broadcast, print, digital, social media, experiential events and an out-of-home placement that includes the use of electroluminescent billboards.  The brand also is introducing a new tagline for the campaign:  “The toughest vehicle in the world. Any world.”

“This is more than an advertising campaign, this is a true experience that captures the excitement one feels when playing ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and when driving the all-new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 Special Edition,’” said Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer, Chrysler Group LLC.  “The production team for the TV commercial consisted of award-winning motion picture talent and the set was created with detailed elements taken directly from the game.  The creative execution for the print advertisement and the billboards are uniquely designed to immediately catch your attention. Each element created and produced for this campaign mirrors the same look and feel found in the game. We are thrilled that people can now experience this excitement in both the real world and in the gaming world.”

The Jeep brand and Activision Publishing, Inc. today announced that Jeep has been named exclusive automotive partner of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the year’s most anticipated entertainment launch, which will be released on November 8.  This marks a second chapter in a joint promotion that Jeep and Activision began last year.

As part of these efforts, Jeep also announced that it will produce the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty:  MW3 Special Edition.  Available in Jeep showrooms this November, the new limited-edition Jeep Wrangler will be available in both two-door and four-door (Jeep Wrangler Unlimited) models.

“The Jeep brand’s partnership with Activision allows us to combine our new, more powerful, more exciting and more fuel-efficient Jeep Wrangler with the latest version of one of the most popular gaming experiences in the world,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “This opportunity enables us to demonstrate Jeep Wrangler’s unique combination of fun, capability and performance to a broad and growing group of consumers.”

Auburn Hills, Mich. — Jeep enthusiasts now have the opportunity to transform their four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited into a two-door pickup truck.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the Mopar JK-8 kit is $5,499. The kit, which comes with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty, is now available for ordering through Mopar at Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealerships. The warranty covers kit materials and workmanship performed at a Chrysler Group dealership.

“Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited are some of our most accessorized vehicles,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO, Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “New Jeep Wrangler owners typically spend more than $500 on Mopar accessories. For Jeep Wrangler Unlimited owners, our new Mopar JK-8 kit answers the call for even more radical customization. And it’s yet another example of how Mopar will continue to support our brands with innovative features.”

Prior to the introduction of the JK-8 kit, Mopar introduced numerous industry-first features including in-vehicle Wi-Fi, off-road camper trailers, vehicle-information apps and an Electronic Vehicle Tracking System (EVTS). Most recently, the brand introduced its Ram Runner off-road desert-racer kit.

Mopar first revealed its JK-8 kit at this year’s Moab Jeep Safari. The kit takes cues from the popular Jeep Scrambler CJ-8 from the 1980’s. Major components include a spacious 44-inch by 50-inch steel bed, inner and outer bedsides constructed from stamped sheet metal, sport bar extensions, Freedom Panel assemblies, a removable fiberglass hardtop with a sliding rear window, two fixed side windows and a fiberglass bulkhead.

Today at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, Jeep introduced two new models for 2011. The company presented to the media and enthusiasts in attendance its two newest models at its display on Main Street, including the 2011 Jeep Wrangler Mojave and the 2012 Grand Cherokee SRT8.

For the 2011 Wrangler Mohave, Jeep decided to offer another special-edition version of the vehicle after the success of the three special-edition Wrangler vehicles produced last year. The name pays homage to the rugged western desert Mojave Trail, and the Jeep Wrangler Mojave features a unique desert theme inside and out (accented with lizard graphics), as well as the wheel-and-tire package similar to the one found on the Rubicon with mineral gray 17-inch wheels and 32-inch tires. The exterior features a body-color hardtop and fender flares, and the Sahara model’s side steps.

“The Mojave Trail is known for expeditions, exploration and a rugged environment that features elevation, sand, canyons, a river crossing and hill climbs – the perfect landscape for the Jeep Wrangler,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO — Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “By creating the Jeep Wrangler Mojave, we are able to deliver another specialized vehicle that Jeep enthusiasts will love, while drawing new customers into Jeep showrooms.”

Inside, the Mojave features dark saddle leather seats with a lizard logo embossed on the front seats. Driftwood surrounds the vents, front-passenger grab handle, steering-wheel spokes and door-handle inserts and Mopar slush mats and overhead grab handles complete the package.
