The Glen Helen round of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series is always one to get excited about, with much of the industry and many of the key sponsors in the series either wholly based or having a very strong presence in Southern California, and the vast majority of the drivers as well.

This weekend’s racing will mark rounds five and six of the series, which is seeing unprecedented success in 2011, and even though this is true, no one is sitting on their laurels. It’s the second time for the series to visit Glen Helen, and improvements for this year’s event include doubling the seating capacity and streamlining parking to create a better flow for spectators, so they can spend more time watching the racing and visiting with their favorite drivers and vendors.

This weekend’s event will not only include the usual suspects of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, such as Brian Deegan, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, Carl Renezeder, Rob MacCachren, Curt Leduc, Rick Huseman, Jeremy McGrath, Jason Ellis, Cameron Steele and more, but also NASCAR star and six-time off-road champ Robby Gordon will be hoping to make his presence known in Pro 2 Unlimited.

Chandler, Ariz. -  Team General Tire is ready to dominate the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series at Firebird Raceway March 19-20, 2011.

Team General Tire will be well-represented at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Ariz., with Carl Renezeder competing in Pro 2 Unlimited and 4; Robby Woods in Pro 2 Unlimited; newly-signed Casey Currie in Pro Lite Unlimited; Jeff “Ox” Kargola debuting his new truck design in Super Lite and the Premier Motorsports Group with Josh Merrell in Pro 4 Unlimited; and new team additions Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg in Pro 2 Unlimited and Jason Ellis in Super Lite.

Lite short-course driver Casey Currie, known for sweeping the TORC champion weekend at Crandon last year and taking home the series Pro Lite title. Currie has signed a multi-year sponsorship with General Tire and will beginning racing on the Grabber LT265/75R16 tires at the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series this weekend.

Lucas Oil Off Road Racing returns to Firebird International Raceway just outside of Phoenix AZ. Racing enthusiast have identified the newest short course track as the fan favorite and the surrounding region is blazing with hype about the series starting and ending the 2011 season at Firebird’s very exciting and unique track. Round 1 is sure to set things off in a big way.

Race fans are encouraged to join in the festivities with the official pre race party going down Wednesday March 16th. Top racers of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will greet the fans at Majerles Sports Grill Chandler with vehicle displays, autograph signings and a live from the scene broadcast of the Lucas Oil Totally Off Road Radio Show. The fun happens at 6-8pm with delicious food and refreshing drink specials. Majerles Sports Grill is 7 miles from the race track and 12 minutes down the road to the Chandler Fashion Center.

Break out media & action sport personality Jason Ellis has an incredible lust for life that drives his passions and motivates accomplishments. If you have ever heard The Jason Ellis Show on SIRIUS/XM Channel; Faction, you might recognize Ellis babbling on in his hilarious and twisted ways. Premiere Motorsports Group and Dethrone Royalty have stepped into Jason’s corner and signed Ellis to drive a full season in the 2011 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Jason will pilot the #89 Dethrone Royalty SuperLite during the 15 Rounds of competition beginning on March 19th at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, AZ.
