Caselli-THUMB-Hare-Hound-11-22-13We are just three short days away from the start of the final event of the 2013 FMF/GPR National Hare and Hound Championship Series, and although many class championships have already been decided, there is plenty more racing to be had. With 100 miles of grueling, exciting, National-Level terrain prepared for the racers, the 100′s MC along with the help of the Invaders MC have been hard at work ever since rescheduling of their event due to the government shut down.

Kicking things off Saturday Morning, Erek Kudla and the National Youth Hare and Hound Series Presented by District 37/Kenda/Fasst Co. will see the crowning of 5 new Champions for the first time ever, with four classes that are yet to be decided. Cleaning up early in his class, five-year-old Cole Timboe is your 2013 AMA National Pee Wee Champion. In the Micro Mini Class, Mason Klein aboard his KTM65 is currently in the lead but must finish fourth or better to wrap up the championship. Second in points, Cody Glover has the chance to take the Championship for himself if he can win here at round 10. The win, and championship will only hold up if Klein finishes 5th or worse. Either way its going to be an exciting race for the little guys. Caitlyn Kurtz can seal her own destiny with a win this weekend, but with five wins of her own Utah’s Rachel Stout is knocking at the door. However, a midsummer injury could keep Rachel on the sidelines, only time will tell what Saturday will bring..

Round 2

Round 1

Kendall Norman was a man on a mission at round 9 of the AMA National Hare and Hound series. He launched his Honda CRF450X out to an impressive holeshot and never looked back.

Taking the win Kendall had this to say, “Going into the So-Cal MC National Hare and Hound, I didn’t question my equipment, fitness or talent, instead just hoped for the perfect day. My Honda ran flawless, the pit crew was on point and I had that perfect day leading wire to wire. Thank you to all who believe in me and support the cause.” – Kendall Norman

The course consisted of 3 separate loops. Loop 1 was a 38 mile challenging high speed loop. Loop 2 was a 49 mile section that spread the field out and took the leaders nearly 1 1/2 hours to complete. Loop 3 was a 14 mile technical, demanding, rocky, high steaks sprint to the finish. All totaling up to a 100 mile race for the record books. Congratulations Kendall on a spectacular win!

Round 7 of the AMA/Kenda National Hare & Hound Championship Series in NV on May 8th has been cancelled due to BLM issues.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The Bureau of Land Management has refused the permit application for round 7 of the AMA Racing/Kenda Hare & Hound National Championship Series on May 8 in Nightingale, Nev. According to the event promoter, the BLM has initiated several new requirements, chief among them a migratory bird survey for the area. While the promoter fully expects a permit ultimately will be issued, it will not be in time for the originally scheduled May 8 race. We will be working with the club and AMA to try and reschedule this event at a later date in the fall.

It’s ‘All systems a go’ in Idaho as the NHHA returns for its second year in a row to the area south of Murphy, Idaho.  Dirt Inc has prepared 100 miles of course that will sure to test all bikes and bodies at this year’s Round 4 of the AMA/Kenda National Hare and Hound Championship Series.  2011 is dedicated to the memory of Dirt Inc. member, Jody Schlapia.  Jody lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer last November, but was instrumental every step of the way in helping to make Dirt Inc’s National one of the most exciting races of the year.

David Pearson and his Purvines Racing Honda team will be in full force as their new fast guy, Justin Morrow, looks to have another impressive race.  Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Destry Abbott is also en route, and his plane is expected to arrive at some point Friday morning.  Off Road Support Kawasaki’s Jacob Argubright hopes to make it back on the podium after a 4th place finish at Round 3.  Making the long trek north into Idaho from south of the Mexican Border, FMF/KTM’s Kurt Caselli looks to make it three in a row and take over the points lead here in Idaho.

The National Hare and Hound Association is proud to announce its newest sponsor for the entire 2011 series – Rocky Mountain ATV/MC!

Throughout the remaining eight AMA/Kenda National Hare and Hound events, including this weekend’s El Centro event, all riders who enter to race will receive a $10 dollar rockymountainatvmc.com gift card that can be used towards any on-line purchase from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC.  That’s right, ALL RIDERS who sign up to race will receive a gift card from the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Race Gas Rider Reward Program.

“When they presented us with the idea, it was a no-brainer.  Rocky Mountain is one of the largest on-line retailers in the powersports industry and this is a great way to be able to give back to all the racers, no matter what class or skill level”- NHHA Series Promotions Manager, Chris Blais. “Each and every one of us orders parts from the on-line retailers, and to have Rocky Mountain acknowledge the fact that we are out here, racing every weekend in the desert, is awesome.”

Gift Cards will be mailed directly to each event participant via Rocky Mountain ATV/MC and can be used on any future purchase through the industry leader’s website at www.rockymountainatvmc.com All you need to do is sign up to race as normal! Please allow two weeks for delivery of Gift Cards via US Mail.

“This program has been extremely successful this year with other race organizations that are currently participating in it,” explained Race Gas Reward Program Director, Josh Bowman.  “We are excited to be helping the hard-core desert racers who are participating in this series.”
