COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – JT Taylor completed another first in off-road racing.  He took the Torchmate / Tube Shark Ultra4 car south of the border and finished the four day 2012 General Tire NORRA Mexican 1000 Race.  “This is the funest race on the planet, and I’ve been around the planet,” joked JT Taylor.  “On a more serious note, it is an honor to be able to be welcomed by the entire NORRA staff and all the legendary drivers into their group after racing this week.”

The week started off with a very well organized NORRA Tech and Contingency where JT Taylor and co-driver Doug Nagy mingled with legends of the sport.  On Day 1, of the four day staged race, they left the line in a parade to Laguna Selada.  Once in open racing, the car ran well, but the steering ram that had been replaced prior to the race was now too quick.  They changed the part and picked up a little penalty for the transit stage, but had a great time in the last few sections reeling people in with the King Shocks and Goodyear Tires rolling over the obstacles.

Rialto, CA - Rodeo Ford of Goodyear, Arizona joins Chad George in the SuperLite Championship for the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series at Speedworld Off-Road Park in Surprise Arizona on April 16-17.

Dodge Earnhardt, owner of Rodeo Ford commented, “We’re excited to be apart of Chad’s racing program this weekend, he already has a great start this season, and winning is what Rodeo Ford wants to be associated with. Combining our dealership, known for decades of outstanding service and great pricing, with a champion was an easy decision and a perfect fit.

I had the opportunity to personally race a SuperLite truck last season, it’s A LOT of FUN and it’s a real drivers class. The SuperLite program is top-notch and the Lucas Oil Off-Road fans know how to pack the house.”

Chad takes his #42 Kawasaki/Yokohama SuperLite into Round 3 of the LOORRS SuperLite Championship with 3rd place in the points championship. With Rounds 3 and 4 in Surprise, AZ he has the opportunity to move up 2 spots on the leader board, keeping him in contention for the title.

“During rounds 1 and 2 at Firebird Raceway we made adjustments and battled to put our Kawasaki/Yokohama SuerLite truck toward the front. After some more tuning in the shop, we think the #42 will be the truck to beat at Speedworld Off-Road Park. Rodeo Ford picked a great time to join the party!” said Chad George.

With King of the Hammers coming up next week, plenty of planned activities are coming up during the event. Here’s one we came across from King Shocks to benefit Fast-Aid.

King Shocks will be holding a raffle at 8:00pm in the Griffin lounge at the 2011 King of the Hammers Race. The proceeds of the raffle will be going to Fast-Aid, an organization that helps injured racers and their families and holds basic first aid training for teams and individuals. Many of us in the offroad community spend long hours in remote areas. Having a team member who can administer basic first aid and CPR should tragedy strike could make the difference between life or death. This raffle would not be possible without the hard work done by Fast-Aid and the generous support from the following companies in the offroad community who have donated so far.

King Shocks, Spidertrax, Currie Enterprises, Traxxas, TrailReady, PCI Race Radios, Mikes Race Photo.com, Off-Road Evolution, Rough Stuff Specialties, PSC steering, B.F. Goodrich, Goodyear, 4Wheel Drive Toyota OwnersMagazine, Funco Motorsports, 4Wheel Parts Wholesalers, Kartek, Dyno Max, HCR Racing,  Total Chaos, KC Hilites, Trail Gear, Magnaflow Performance Exhaust.
