GBC-Motorsports-Off-Road-10-31-13Anaheim, Calif. – After 8 long months and 12 rounds of competing against the top ATV racers in the country, the team of GBC racers pulled into Crawfordsville, IN for the final round of the 2013 season: the Ironman GNCC. Despite unseasonably cold temperatures the racetrack shaped up perfectly and the heated battles that ensued were enough to warm up anyone in attendance.

Bryan Buckhannon started things off in the AM race with his 13th consecutive win of the season in the 4×4 Open class. Bryan has set a new standard for domination over the past 6 seasons in the 44 divisions, and all of us here at GBC are proud to have had him represent our products. Bryan announced his retirement from full time ATV competition on the podium following his win and stated that he will be focusing his efforts on UTV racing in the future. We look forward to working with Bryan in his UTV career and thank him once again for his efforts over the past few seasons.

GNCC-Preview-10-10-13MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series heads to St. Clairsville, Ohio this Sunday, October 13, for the 12th running of the ITP Powerline Park GNCC. Kailub Russell leads the way into the penultimate round of racing with an impressive five-race winning streak behind him, where he holds a slight advantage over Charlie Mullins in the XC1 Pro Class championship standings.

The Factory FMF/KTM teammates make up all but one of the overall wins this season, but it’s Russell who tops the field with a total of six wins through the first eleven rounds. Russell has continued to pick up momentum in the second half of the season with a five-race winning streak, but his teammate Mullins has shown no mercy during the three-hour competitions. Mullins holds four overall wins and a slew of hard-fought second place finishes, where he sits seven points behind Russell in the overall standings.

GNCC-Goes-Pink-9-27-13MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – In honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Round 13 of the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series will once again “go pink” for the 19th Annual AMSOIL Ironman GNCC. Taking place October 26 and 27 in Crawfordsville, Ind., the season finale has become more than just a race, as nearly 10,000 spectators are expected to attend what has arguably become the largest fall festival in Montgomery County.

The goal of Ironman’s pink-effort is to raise awareness and funds locally for breast cancer care and research, while also bringing the GNCC Racing community together for a cause that transcends racing. The pink livery will make a dynamic contrast to the woods, hills and mud of the iconic Ironman GNCC.

GNCC-Off-Road-Series-9-20-13MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series makes its debut in Northwest Pennsylvania this weekend, September 21 and 22, for the inaugural running of the Car-Mate Gusher GNCC. Taking place on the property of Foxburg’s picturesque RiverStone Estate, Round 11 of the 13-race series will showcase all-new terrain with freshly cut trail alongside the wild and scenic Allegheny and Clarion River.

In addition to the excitement and anticipation of this first time event, all attention will be turned to the racetrack Sunday afternoon as the battle continues to unfold for the coveted 2013 National Championship. Only two points separate Factory FMF/KTM teammates Kailub Russell and Charlie Mullins in the overall standings as the series heads into unexplored territory for the eleventh round of racing. As the 2011 XC1 Pro Champion, Mullins has experience on his side but the two-time XC2 Pro Lites Champion, Russell, has his sights set on his first career XC1 crown this season. Russell holds the points lead heading into Sunday’s race, with an impressive four-race winning streak behind him.

Russell-GNCC-9-6-13MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following a two-month summer break, the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series returns to racing this Sunday, September 8, for the ninth running of the Can-Am Unadilla GNCC, held at the legendary Unadilla Raceway in New Berlin, Ny. Sunday’s three-hour afternoon race will showcase an exciting battle for the XC1 Class championship between Factory FMF/KTM teammates Charlie Mullins and Kailub Russell, as only three points separate the duo heading into Round 10.

At four wins apiece, Mullins and Russell have gone head-to-head all season but after approximately 27 grueling hours of racing, Mullins holds a slight points lead through the first nine rounds. Mullins, the 2011 XC1 Champion, is working towards a second-straight title this season while Russell is seizing every opportunity to dethrone his teammate and capture his first-career XC1 championship. Russell heads into Round 10 with a three-race winning streak behind him and all the confidence to capture a fourth victory in New York.

Shenandoah Honda/USWE-Sports.com’s Thad DuVall is the only other rider besides Mullins and Russell to capture an overall victory this season. In addition to his Round 5 win, DuVall has put forth a consistent string of finishes but unfortunate mechanical issues caused the West Virginia native to forfeit valuable championship points along the way. DuVall currently holds fourth place in the overall standings.

Borich-GNCC-Off-Road-6-27-13MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Round 9 of the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series heads to Snowshoe Mountain Resort this weekend for the toughest, most spectacular and most unique race on the whole circuit, the AMSOIL Snowshoe GNCC. Four-time ATV champion Chris Borich leads the field into the final race before the summer break, but Saturday’s two-hour battle through the grueling woods of Snowshoe Mountain has the potential to shake things up in the XC1 class.

Set in the upscale ski village of West Virginia’s largest ski resort, this weekend’s Snowshoe GNCC promises to resurrect pieces of XC history with its live engine starts across the paved road located in the heart of Snowshoe’s village. The in town starts pay homage to the Blackwater 100-the original GNCC-where groups of five racers take off in five-second increments, making for a spectacular scene.

Because of the unique start and technical racecourse, the Snowshoe GNCC has been known to throw a twist in the race action. In fact, there have been three different overall winners at Snowshoe in the last four years. Maxxis-backed Chris Borich captured a hard-fought win over Reliable Tool Supply/Maxxis rider Chris Bithell in 2012, while Lonestar/Precision/ITP’s Adam McGill watched from the sidelines with a recovering injury. However, McGill took the Snowshoe victory in 2011 and that, coupled with his overall win at the previous round this season, could give McGill the momentum needed to make it two-in-a-row this Saturday.
