NORRA-LogoSince the mid-1970s, the name of Bilstein has been synonymous with high-performance shock absorbers that are engineered for the demanding environment of desert off-road racing.  Now Bilstein has joined forces with the National Off Road Racing Association (NORRA) in its mission to “Honor the Past” and “Forging the Future” by being named as the “official shock absorber” of the California-based organization.

Today’s announcement comes in preparation of NORRA”s second off-road rally of 2013– the upcoming NORRA Mexican 500 “La Carrera Del Norte” (The Race of the North).  Scheduled for Sept. 27 – 30th, the new three-day Mexican 500 rally will take competitors from the historic off-road racing home of Ensenada, Baja, Mexico to Mexicali, San Felipe and back to Ensenada over three fun and adventure-filled days of competition and camaraderie.

Polaris-RZR-SCORE-San-Felipe-3-12-13Minneapolis, March 11, 2013 – Thirteen side-by-sides, including Jagged X’s Matt Parks and Jason Spiess in their 1932 Jagged X/Polaris RZR XP 4 900, lined up for the first SCORE race of the season, the San Felipe 250. The race was the inaugural race for the “Pro UTV” class in the series and when the dust settled, Parks and Spiess would take the checkered flag and be one of only two side-by-sides to finish from the class.

The San Felipe 250 is notorious for being the roughest race in North America with endless whoops, deep silt and rocky sand washes. But after Parks did his pre-run, he knew that this would be a race of survival.

November 14th – BJ Baldwin and the #97 Monster Energy / Toyo Tires Chevrolet Silverado team will make their return to the recently weather stricken Baja Peninsula for the 45th Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, November 14-17. Considered to be the most grueling off-road race in the world, this year’s course will be a peninsula run starting on the Pacific Ocean in Ensenada, Baja Mexico and traveling an incredible 1,121.55 miles south to finish on the Sea of Cortez in La Paz.

Driving the length of the Baja Peninsula at speed is challenging enough but Hurricane Paul left further damage in its wake adding to the enormous task at hand. Bj, who will be driving the entire race solo, will square off against 34 other Trophy Truck teams, many with two or three drivers, who are just as determined to win. When he goes off the line at approximately 11:30 a.m. PST on Thursday, he will be charging non-stop to the finish.
