Irvine, CA – Bryan Roper is an Arizona native that has become a top five National Trials competitor over the past few years. Like many of the top EnduroCross racers, he is trying to make the transition from Trials, which means he is now thrown into head to head racing through some pretty gnarly obstacles. Roper is learning quickly and the nineteen year old is currently leading the MAVtv Junior EnduroCross Championship, which is a championship within a championship for riders 21 and under.

Ironically, the closest rider in the Junior Championship chase is fellow Arizona resident, Max Gerston. Gerston comes from an off-road and desert racing background so it is very interesting to see the contrasting styles of the two riders. Gerston is far more aggressive but the two are close in the points chase so it is difficult to argue which style is better. Oregon’s Keith Sweeten is another rider with a  Trials background and is currently third in the Junior Championship followed by Steward Baylor, the current GNCC XC2 Champion and National Enduro points leader that turned some heads at his first ever EnduroCross at the X Games. Jacob Argubright, one of the top desert racers is currently fifth.

Irvine, CA (September 15, 2011) – Johnny Campbell, the Baja racing legend will take his first crack at competing in an EnduroCross this coming Saturday, September 17th. The GEICO AMA EnduroCross series, presented by Lucas Oil, will make a first time appearance inside the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California and Campbell will be competing in the Vet class. The top two finishers in the Vet class earn a spot in the EnduroCross Grand Championship, which is a winner take all AMA Amateur Championship and will take place during the EnduroCross finals in Las Vegas on November 19th.

Campbell, who is now 40 years old owns and manages the JCR Honda off road racing program, which continues to be a dominant force in Baja with Quinn Cody, Colton Udall, David Kamo and Kendal Norman, who is also the current AMA Hare & Hound Champion and a regular EnduroCross competitor.

The Ontario EnduroCross will be jam packed with cool events taking place: The Baja Designs night race, Husqvarna dealer meeting, KTM Experience, Traxxas RC Car demo and the world’s top off road motorcycle racers competing on the crazy obstacles that make up the EnduroCross track, there will be plenty of action.

Admission to the EnduroCross pit area is free all day and the arena is also open with free admission during the daytime practice and qualifiers, which get started on Saturday morning. The top 30 Expert riders also do individual Hot Laps during the midafternoon, so make a day out of it and check it out in person.

Everett, WA – The 2011 GEICO AMA EnduroCross series, presented by Lucas Oil made a huge impact as part of the X Games less than two weeks ago then the riders made the trip up to the Pacific Northwest to race in the Comcast Arena in Everett Washington. And just like at the X Games, Taddy Blazusiak rode his Factory KTM 350 to the win. Geoff Aaron finished second on his GEICO Honda while Cody Webb rounded out the podium on his factory Beta.

The afternoon got started with the timed qualifying laps to determine the gate picks for the heat races. Blazusiak set the fastest time followed by Aaron, Graham Jarvis, Mike Brown and Colton Haaker. The “Hot Laps” determine the gate picks for the heat races.

Blazusiak, Webb and Jarvis each won their heat races to get direct transfers to the main event. Webb has really stepped up his game for EnduroCross and looks like he will be a regular podium contender. Jarvis made the trip from England to compete in a few North American off road events and showed that he is a contender. The biggest surprise non-qualifier for the main event was Monster Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert who could not re-fire his bike after stalling in his semi.
