At the 50th anniversary of Easter Jeep Safari there are people from around the world converging on a town of 30,000 people. Traveling from afar has never been a shy point for Jeep enthusiasts, and to commemorate the 50th EJS in Moab, Utah, a group of friends organized The Epic Willys Adventure. Moab veterans know that most days out in the area’s scenic southeastern Utah backcountry all go the same way: Family and friends have a great time, hopefully with no breakage or accidents, and they head back into town to enjoy an evening of food and drink while sharing interesting and often humorous tales of their adventures. Meanwhile, the odometer on their 4×4 will tell quite another story: 10.8 miles, or 35.7 miles, or, or… If the rig could talk, it would probably blurt out something like, “Really, dude? That’s all the farther we drove today?”

Easter Jeep Safari is in full swing, and today Area BFE was hopping with Jeeps, Toyotas, buggies and Ultra4 cars tackling the hard stuff and the moderate trails that Area BFE has to offer. If you have never been to Area BFE, it’s a private property park with a playground and plethora of trails from easy to extreme.

There’s a great story with every vehicle Jeep and Mopar brought out to the 50th Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. Some of the vehicles explore the fantasy of possibility, but the Trailstorm Concept is firmly grounded in reality. In fact, what makes this rig cool is the fact that nearly all of its upgrades are Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) available in the Mopar catalog right now.

Not having been to Moab, Utah, for over eight years, I was intrigued when Off-Road.com editor Josh Burns offered me the opportunity to tag along for the 50th Anniversary Easter Jeep Safari and maybe enjoy some of the scenic and serpentine trails for which southeastern Utah is widely regarded as heaven to four-wheeling enthusiasts.
