The granddaddy of all desert off-road races, November’s BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000, has already attracted nearly 125 entries from 17 countries … and registration has only been open for a week.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY – Radflo Suspension will be soaking up the toughest terrain in America when put to the ultimate challenge at the 2012 Griffin King of the Hammers.  There will be multiple Ultra4 cars in the event that will be racing on Radflo Suspension including Cottin Rodd, Nick Nelson, JT Taylor and Derek West among many others.  “We will be on the lakebed supporting all the teams using Radflo Products and will be assisting with race car set up the week before the race,” explained Glenn Classen, President of Radflo Suspension Technology.

Typically the King of the Hammers Ultra4 cars are using a combination of the Radflo 2.5 Bypass, 2.0 Coilover and 2.0 Bump Stops.  Between the vehicle height and weight, and the extreme need for flex in the fast desert and rock crawling, these vehicles demand a suspension that will handle the abuse and not wear out.  “We had a lot of success at last years King of the Hammers and look forward to cheering more of the teams to the finish line this year,” said Classen.

Radflo Suspension will be on Shock Tuners Row in the Vendor area where Glenn will be on hand to answer any questions that you have about Radflo Suspension in correlation to your specific vehicle.  Radflo will be on the lakebed from February 3rd to February 10th. If you are interested in having your Radflo suspension tuned, please email info@radflo.com or call 714 965-7828 to set up a date and time.

Baja California, Mexico – After a lengthy delay, due to a jack-knifed passenger truck towards the start line, the Class 8 division headed out for their adventure in the desert with Kent Kroeker representing General Tire (Team GT). The 2004 Baja 1000 winner maneuvered through the treacherous terrain with one goal in mind, another win. And that’s just what he did. Kroeker completed the 692-mile course without incident claiming his second Baja 1000 victory.

“It’s great to see General Tire get two wins at the Baja 1000,” said Travis Roffler, marketing director, General Tire. “Kent is an excellent representative for General Tire and we couldn’t be happier to see him on top of the podium.”

“This is just awesome,” said Kroeker following the race. “To win the Baja 1000 once is amazing but to win it a second time is awesome. The KORE team prepared a great truck for me and my General tires held up great. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I have to thank everyone that helped me get here today. This is a fantastic day!”

CHANDLER, AZ – July 24, 2011–  TROPHYLITE™ teams have raced the General Tire TROPHYLITE race series in some of the closest racing we have ever seen in this 2011 championship season.  With wins from Hengeveld and Messer the points race is close as we head into the darkness for the next event.  The KC HiLITES Midnight Special.  The race will be held in Primm Nevada near the Nevada and California state line.  Primm has been home to many off-road races over the years and provides some of the roughest and most challenging racing in the desert.

Look for very close and competitive racing that will start with the teams Technical Inspections on Friday July 29 mid day and the first round of races that evening.  Teams will have to rely on their KC HiLITES to navigate the night time races starting at 10:00 PM.  This unique event will be held over 2 days of racing and the final results will be a combination of the 2 days finishes by the teams.

Steve and Joe Hengeveld are looking for another win to try and win the championship for the 2011 season and steal the crown from the defending class champions the team of Gary and Troy Messer.  After a commanding win at the General Tire Mint 400 the Messer team knows what they need to do to try and hang on to the championship for this new year.

In addition this will be the first event that will showcase the TROPHYLITE trucks with the upgraded engine program that was introduced into the rules just after the General Tire Mint 400 just several weeks back.  The new 2.4L engines will be restricted with a restrictor plate for the rest of the 2011 season to ensure equality in the class.  At the close of the year the teams will be permitted to use the new 2.4L engines with no restrictions to bring the overall engine performance up by nearly 20% overall.

Join us in Primm Nevada for the excitement.
