Voss-King-Shocks-BITD-8-30-13On Friday, August 16th, Best In The Desert held the General Tire Vegas to Reno off road race. Known for being the longest point-to-point desert race in the United States, this highlighted event attracts a who’s who of very talented racers. Along with the ultra elite racing exotic “Trick Trucks” and high horsepower unlimited buggies, 260 brave challengers attempted to conquer nearly 550 miles of non-stop off road obstacles. In the end, it was Jason Voss from Northern California driving the #35 Truck equipped with King Shocks, who captured the quickest finishing time of 9 Hours, 10 Minutes and 13 seconds, more than 6 minutes ahead of second place.

It was a big win for Jason Voss and earned a bit of redemption. During Time Trials earlier in the week, Jason had nailed down the fastest time but was penalized for knocking over a cone in the very first corner. Voss-BFGoodrich-8-23-13Jason Voss piloted his trick truck to the overall win at the Best In The Desert “Vegas To Reno” race to capture his second desert race of 2013 and give BFGoodrich Tires its fourth Best In The Desert win of the season.

BFGoodrich Tires brought home all top 10 Trick Truck finishers and 11 of the top 12 overall finishers for another dominating run in desert racing. This season, BFGoodrich has claimed seven total desert race wins.

Voss started 12th after serving a penalty from qualifying and overcame the field of more than 50 unlimited vehicles and the grueling 550 miles in a final time of 9:13:10, more than six minutes ahead of the next finisher. His other win came earlier this year in the Best In The Desert Parker425.
