Maria-Forsberg-GNCC-10-15-13MEDFORD, OR – The penultimate round of the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series hosted another impressive group of racers (1400 strong) this weekend at the Powerline Park GNCC in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Even with the massive number of participants, Motorcycle-Superstore.com support riders Maria Forsberg and Andrew DeLong once again found their way to the top of their respective podiums.

Forsberg started out the morning race with another outstanding finish taking the AM race overall victory and the Women’s Class win but the best part of her day was that she also clinched the 2013 GNCC Women’s Class Championship in the process. Obviously, Maria was happy to repeat her championship and wanted to thank both her family and sponsors.

Husqvarna-Delong-GNCC-9-24-13Murrieta, CA – Fred Andrews Racing Husqvarna’s Andrew DeLong has officially started a new win streak in the GNCC series, having taken his second consecutive win in the XC2 Pro class! DeLong piloted his TXC250R to a dominant win in Foxburg, Pennsylvania at round 11 of the 2013 series.

A new stop on the tour, the “Gusher” GNCC lived up to his name having received a deluge of rain on Saturday afternoon – but the series crew was able to turn the track into one of the best of the season after having spent the morning making a new 10-mile course. DeLong got out to a mid-pack start and got to work pushing toward the front of the XC2 class. He quickly got into the lead only to give it up with a crash on lap 3. Fortunately DeLong regained the lead and put the hammer down to build a 47-second buffer over second place by the time the white flag came out. DeLong cruised to the win, and also managed to end his day in fifth place overall!

Mullins-Team-AMA-Champion-9-16-13Lynnville, IN – Factory FMF/KTM rider Charlie Mullins was crowned the 2013 Rekluse/AMA National Enduro Champion after winning the ninth round of the series to clinch the title one round early.

Mullins was on the gas all day as he won the first two special tests and tied for the lead in the third. At the halfway point he had already accumulated a minute lead on the field as the riders headed toward the fourth test of the afternoon. He finished second in the next two tests and the rebounded to take the win in the final test session to win the overall and his second career AMA National Enduro title.

Andrew-Delong-GNCC-9-9-13Murrieta, CA – Guess who’s back! Andrew DeLong returned to his winning ways over the weekend where he not only dominated the XC2 Pro class, but also climbed into the top-five overall in the P.M. race at the Unadilla GNCC. DeLong and his Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna TXC250R tackled the New York terrain, including the infamous Unadilla Raceway motocross track, and controlled nearly the entire race to emerge victorious.

“I’ve been working hard the whole break and it showed today,” said Andrew, who had been fighting to regain his fitness after suffering a broken hand earlier in the season. “I want to thank my team and sponsors for sticking with me. I had a lot of fun today and all my hard work paid off.”

2013-EX-Sacramento-Ruiz-6-10-13Corona, CA – June 10, 2013 – Factory Husqvarna’s Cory Graffunder hit the road for round two of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross series with one thing on his mind – podium. After starting the season with a modest seventh-place finish at the opening round, Graffunder was determined to improve his results, and he was able to do just that with a third-place finish, on the podium, at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California.

The battle for third in the main event turned out to be an intense one. Graffunder had his hands full getting around his former teammate, Kyle Redmond, who held third for much of the main. Cory then had the challenge of fending off a hard charging Taddy Blazusiak for the final podium position. Graffunder proved to be unstoppable on his factory Husqvarna TXC310R, and would not be pressured into making any mistakes.

Mullins loose-moose-shan-6-10-13Marquette, MI – Factory FMF/KTM rider Charlie Mullins earned his fifth win of the season at the sixth round of the Rekluse/AMA National Enduro Series after capturing five of six special test wins to take the overall victory.

Mullins started the day off right taking the first special test win. He continued his win streak taking the next two special test wins. Mullins finished 2nd in the fourth test but quickly found himself back in the lead position to take the fifth and sixth special test wins. His five special test wins helped him secure his fifth victory of the season with a two minute gap on the 2nd place ride of Nick Fahringer.

Now six rounds into the series, Mullins holds a 27 point lead in the championship standings. The riders will now take a two week break until the seventh round to be held on June 23, 2013 in Blain, PA.

KTM-Logo-2-14-12Forest Hill, LA – Factory Husaberg rider Russell Bobbitt and AirGroup Radiant Racing Husaberg rider Nick Fahringer finished 2nd and 3rd respectively at the fourth round of the Rekluse/AMA National Enduro Series dubbed the Cajun Enduro.

Bobbitt rode strong from the opening test to the final test section. The 4-time National Enduro Champion finished 2nd in four of the tests to help maintain a gap over third place. At the end of all six tests he was able to take home 2nd place with a margin of 1 minute and 26 seconds over Fahringer.

Delong-Gncc-husqvarna-3-18-13Corona, CA – March 18, 2013 – A mere four days after having dominated the opening round of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series, XC2-class racer Andrew DeLong backed it up with another victory, this time at The General GNCC in Washington, Georgia.

Much like the season opener in River Ranch, Florida only days earlier, the win was a tough fight for DeLong. This time he had Grant Baylor to duel with in the battle for the XC2 class lead. True to form, DeLong let his training do the talking. With two laps left, AD came in for fuel, where his mechanic, Joe Maurer, said, “It’s time to see who’s in shape!”

An all-out sprint in the last laps of the three-hour race saw DeLong with a 23-second lead at the white flag. He pushed hard to the finish, leaving Baylor and factory motocross racer Zach Osborne to battle for second.

Delong-GNCC-3-13-13Corona, CA – March 13, 2013 – Andrew DeLong and the Fred Andrews Racing Husqvarna team sent a strong message to their fellow XC2 competitors at the opening round of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series by taking a commanding win at the River Ranch, Florida event. DeLong finished the three-hour race with over a one-minute lead, having worked his way into fifth overall, demonstrating that he is a clear threat to the XC2 title this season.

DeLong had his work cut out for him after crashing in the second turn and heading into the first lap nearly dead last. “We have seen AD come from last and win so we were not too worried,” commented team manager Fred Andrews. “Three hours in the sand is a strong man’s race.”

GNCC-Mullins-3-13-13River Ranch, Fla. (March 12, 2013) – Factory FMF/KTM’s Charlie Mullins topped a stacked field of riders at the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country season opener in River Ranch, Florida. The win wasn’t exactly handed to the 2011 GNCC champion, though, as teammate Kailub Russell and former XC1 champ Josh Strang and Paul Whibley contested Mullins throughout the full three-hour battle, presenting a lethal combination of some of the roughest and highest speed terrain on the 13-race circuit. XC2 Pro Lites winner Andrew DeLong made waves from the second row, finishing fifth overall in front of an exciting battle for second between reigning XC2 champ Jason Thomas and Pro Motocross star Zach Osborne.

The Moose Racing Westgate River Ranch GNCC historically kicks off the GNCC season in a big way, taking place just a couple hours south of the infamous Daytona Bike week festivities. But perhaps more importantly is the fact that the season opener also serves as an industry hub for all types of off-road racing to meet up for a spectacular weekend of cross-country racing, scouting and networking.
