Delong-Gncc-husqvarna-3-18-13Corona, CA – March 18, 2013 – A mere four days after having dominated the opening round of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series, XC2-class racer Andrew DeLong backed it up with another victory, this time at The General GNCC in Washington, Georgia.

Much like the season opener in River Ranch, Florida only days earlier, the win was a tough fight for DeLong. This time he had Grant Baylor to duel with in the battle for the XC2 class lead. True to form, DeLong let his training do the talking. With two laps left, AD came in for fuel, where his mechanic, Joe Maurer, said, “It’s time to see who’s in shape!”

An all-out sprint in the last laps of the three-hour race saw DeLong with a 23-second lead at the white flag. He pushed hard to the finish, leaving Baylor and factory motocross racer Zach Osborne to battle for second.

CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN – Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Chris Borich had plenty to celebrate after this weekend’s round of the 2011 Grand National Cross Country Series. With one round remaining, Borich clinched his third consecutive XC1 Pro GNCC Championship after racing his Yoshimura-equipped Suzuki QuadRacer R450 to victory at the Ironman GNCC in Crawfordsville, IN.

“It’s been a pretty stressful year and it feels good to finally wrap it up,” said Borich. “The Suzuki QuadRacer and the Yoshimura motor are just an awesome combination, and we had plenty of power to rip right up the nasty hills. I can’t thank my Rockstar Makita Suzuki team enough for giving me equipment I can win on.”

At the drop of the flag, Borich got a solid fourth-place start and then put his Rockstar Makita Suzuki into a battle for the lead. But at the midway point of the two-hour race, Borich dropped back a bit after being held up on one of the Ironman’s notorious hill climbs. Fortunately, the Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider put his head down and once more came from behind on the final lap to take the win and the championship.

Dallas, TX - Seat Time, in conjunction with Racer Productions, is happy to announce it will be holding its second Awesomeness Competition at the final round of the 2011 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, November 4-6. With a three day race format, GNCC Racing wanted some extra entertainment for the racers and families, and that’s where the Seat Time Awesomeness Competition comes into play. With a Concept2 Rower and rear tire in hand, the Seat Time crew will create a fun and competitive atmosphere for all to enjoy.

For those who have not attended an Awesomeness Competition before, the format may always be different, but the end result the same – to find the most awesome person. For the Loretta Lynn’s event, Seat Time has chosen to hold a Tire Changing Competition and a Concept2 Rowing Competition.

The Tire Changing station will be more of a tube changing setup. The competitor will need to remove one side of the tire, replace the tube, place the tire back on the rim and then fill the tire to over 20psi. For the Concept2 Rowing Competition, a competitor will knock out their fastest 250m sprint on a Concept2 Rower. For both stations, fastest times wins.

New for Loretta Lynn’s, there will be an Exhibition Class – where Pro racers and their mechanics can show off their skills in the Tire Changing Competition and the Concept2 Rowing Competition against their on-track racing competitors.

The Awesomeness Competition will be a ton of fun and will feature some great prizes and swag thanks to many of the GNCC Series Sponsors and more. The crew at Seat Time is always looking to have fun and enjoy the great sport of riding motorcycles while helping to promote our sport and make the time between the races a bit more interesting. Everyone is invited to come take a chance at some great prizes, and of course the title of the most Awesome!

Seat Time can be found by visiting seattime.co. All recent episodes can be found on the site and the crew looks forward to many more great years of finding a way to bring you your Off-Road News in a fun and laid back fashion! Always Enjoy A Pint Full of Awesome.
