Gustavo “Tavo” Vildosola won the SCORE Baja 500 today.

Gustavo “Tavo” Vildosola was the first Mexican-born racer to earn the overall victory at the Baja 1000, and the win cemented his legacy as one of the most beloved Mexican off-road racers in the sport. Although Vildosola earned a Baja 500 victory in the Pro Truck class in 2007, he has not stood atop of the podium at the Baja 500 in the Trophy Truck class.

RENO, Nev. — Helping to promote the new generation of desert racers, SCORE International has released the current SCORE Dirty Dozen–the ‘Young Guns’ of the 2015 SCORE World Desert Championship. All less than 30 years old and regulars in this year’s series, the SCORE Dirty Dozen represents a cross section of the next generation of SCORE desert racers that have made and continue to emblazon the world of desert racing with their flamboyant skill and dynamic persona.

SCORE, the world’s foremost desert racing organization, features Pro and Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, UTVs, motorcycles and ATVs.

The SCORE Dirty Dozen represents several of the categories of classes with four who race in SCORE Trophy Truck, the marquee SCORE racing division for high-tech, 850-horesepower unlimited production trucks.

RENO, Nev. — Earning his stripes in a most prolific way, Mexico’s marvelous 20-year old Carlos ‘Apdaly’ Lopez, the obvious leader of the honorary SCORE Dirty Dozen young gun racers, drives the No. 5 RPM Racing Chevy Rally Truck and has quickly climbed to the top of the 2015 SCORE World Desert Championship.

Following second, fourth and first-place finishes, Lopez, a second generation desert racer, leads the SCORE Trophy Truck season point standings as well as the SCORE overall season point standings after Round 3 of the five-race 2015 SCORE World Desert Championship.
