KTM-Logo-2-14-12Bedford, IN – Factory FMF/KTM rider Kailub Russell took his first win of the OMA season at the third round of the series.

Russell did not have the jump off the start he anticipated and he was sitting in last position as the riders came around the first corner. A short ways into the first lap the riders approached a large technical hill climb.

“In one way, I guess I was lucky I was in last place as we got to the hillside because I could see where everyone had crashed,” remarked Russell. “I was then able to take a better line up the hill which allowed me to move up to second position by the top of the hill.”

Mullins-rad-dad-enduro-4-29-13West Point, TN – Factory FMF/KTM rider Charlie Mullins took his fourth win of the season at the fifth round of the Rekluse/AMA National Enduro Series.

Mullins started the day off well taking the first test section win by 18 seconds on the next closest competitor. He kept his momentum going finishing second overall in the next three sections just seconds away from the top times. He found another burst of energy in the fifth and sixth tests where he again took the win in both sections to earn his fourth win of the season.

“It was a pretty muddy course today because of the rain but the course actually became pretty fun near the end when it began to dry up,” remarked Mullins. His Factory FMF/KTM Team Manager Antti Kallonen, also stated, “Mullins really turned it up in the final sections once he was able to gain more traction from the drier course. It allowed him to extend his lead as he worked his way toward another win.”

Fellow Husaberg rider Nick Fahringer joined him on the podium with a second place finish.

Bobbitt had a flawless day. He launched his Husaberg off the line to earn the holeshot as the riders rounded the first corner. From that point on, he continued to stretch his lead throughout the two-hour plus race on the 7 mile looped course. When Bobbitt crossed the finish line he had lapped up to fourth place and finished an impressive 3 minutes ahead of Fahringer who was second.

Salley, SC – Factory FMF/KTM rider Charlie Mullins earned his second victory of the season at the second round of the AMA National Enduro Series after winning 5 of the 6 special tests.

Mullins tied for the win in the first special test and went on to win the next four in a row after that. Heading into the final test he had a 1 minute and nearly 30 second lead over the rest of the field.

“I was definitely feeling confident today and my KTM 350 XC-F has been working perfectly so far this season,” remarked Mullins. “Unfortunately, I suffered two small crashes in the final test that kept me from earning a solid time in that section. After the crashes, I told myself to just relax and ride in safe so I could take home the win.”

Tuscumbia, AL – Husaberg Factory rider Russell Bobbitt took the win at the opening round of the OMA Nationals after a two-hour battle with KTM rider Kailub Russell for the lead position.

Bobbitt started the race in fourth position and was able to quickly move up to the lead before the end of the first lap. “I was able to make some passes on the first lap because everyone in front of me was making small mistakes and blowing corners allowing me to close in and gain positions,” stated Bobbitt.

Bobbitt held the lead for the first two laps on the 11 mile course with Kailub Russell in tow. At the gas stop after the completion of the second lap he lost the lead to Russell. “Kailub and I continued to battle throughout the race,” commented Bobbitt. “It was actually pretty fun, but there were so many mud holes down in the bottom of the ravines that we were both covered in water after trading the lead so many times and splashing each other. Neither of us had anymore tear-offs which also became a problem as we continued to battle.”

Maplesville, AL – Factory FMF/KTM rider Russell Bobbitt ended his season in the best way possible after capturing the win at the final AMA National Enduro round.

Matthews, IN – KTM rider Steward Baylor was crowned the 2012 AMA National Enduro Champion after claiming his sixth victory of the season at the 9th round of the series, the Muddobbers Enduro.

The new crown marks Baylor’s first career AMA National Enduro Championship. Not only did Baylor win the championship in his first full-time year in the series but he also managed to claim the title despite nagging pain from a broken wrist suffered near the beginning of the season.

Baylor never let off no matter how bad the pain or how tough the competition. This is proven by the fact that he still managed to win the Muddobbers Enduro this weekend. He took the victory in three of the tests and placed inside the top three in each of the tests he didn’t win. When it was all said and done, he was able to walk away with the win by a nearly 40 second gap over the second place ride.

Cross Fork, PA – KTM rider Steward Baylor claimed his fifth victory of the season after taking the win at the seventh round of the AMA National Enduro Series with a 2 second margin over 2nd place finisher Mike Lafferty.

In the second test, Baylor topped the charts and moved into the lead. He then finished inside the top three on the next three tests, matching Lafferty again on the fifth test. Heading into the final test, Baylor trailed Lafferty and knew he had to throw down a great time in order to come out with the win. Baylor succeeded at his task and set the fastest time in the final test to win with a 2 second margin over Lafferty.

Baylor’s win helps strengthen his points lead on the series. With three rounds remaining, Baylor now has a 23 point lead in the championship standings.
