Bilstein-Sweeps-Truck-4-17-13Poway, Calif. – BILSTEIN, the world’s leading manufacturer of monotube gas pressure shock absorbers, is proud to announce an exciting new contest. Starting April 15, enthusiasts can enter to win one of three customized vehicles and a trip to the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas where they’ll pick up their new ride. Once they vote, participants will also have the chance to select the parts to be installed on the vehicle, which will come from the leading aftermarket brands in the industry.

In this one-of-a-kind sweepstakes, enthusiasts will be able to vote for the ride of their choice from now until August 1 and enter to win until October 7. BILSTEIN will tally the votes and build the fan favorite for the sweepstakes winner. The choices include the classic Ford Mustang GT, an off-road worthy Ford F-150 truck or a sporty BMW 335i.

With over a thousand entries and even more votes, the recently concluded BILSTEIN Shock My Ride contest has answered the question – “Think You’ve Got the Hottest Truck, Jeep, or Off-Road Build Going?” Jacob Easley took the Grand Prize for his 1997 Ford Ranger, winning a BILSTEIN 9100 Series Shock Absorber package and an all-expenses paid trip for two to the exclusive SEMA Show in Vegas this November. Updates on the progress of Jacob’s ongoing vehicle build will be made available on the BILSTEIN website, www.bilsteinUS.com.

Congratulations also goes to the five First Place winners, who will each receive a set of BILSTEIN’s new 5160 Series Reservoir Shock Absorbers: Alex Ramos (2006 Jeep Wrangler), Jason Albert (1998 Ford Explorer), Greg Wall (2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee), Jeff Kozo (1991 Jeep Wrangler), and Tyler Andersen (1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee).

BILSTEIN Shock Absorbers is pleased to announce that California-based rally racer George Doganis is the recipient of the Madonna Award for Racing Excellence for his racing accomplishments in 2010. An active participant in the SouthWest RallyCup Series, Doganis captured the overall championship in the inaugural year of the BILSTEIN Cup Class in his 1997 Honda Civic. The presentation of the prestigious award took place at the annual SouthWest RallyCup Series awards banquet in January.

The tradition of the BILSTEIN Madonna award in the United States began in 1984 with the Winston Cup championships, and has evolved to recognize the accomplishments of individuals in many areas of on and off-road motorsports. Notable recipients have included Terry Labonte, Bill Elliott, Dale Earnhardt, Ivan Stewart, and Brett Hearn. While Doganis has the honor of being included with this list of racing legends, he also has the distinction of being the first rally racer in North America to receive this award.
