Escanaba, MI (September 20, 2012) -The 2012 TORC race season saw an epic battle for the Super Stock Truck Championship that saw Upper Michigan’s Danny Beauchamp take home the title after sweeping the final weekend of racing at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. The win on Saturday also gave him the title of World Champion and the win in Sunday’s final race of the season saw the twenty-eight year old clinch the TORC Championship.

The 10-race season didn’t start off as well as the team hoped, as the team missed finishing on the podium in the first three rounds of racing, but the Sunday race at Spring Crandon saw the Mole Lake Casino/Bach Mobilities Inc./Hilltop RV sponsored Ford F-150 finish second after a great battle with race winner Nick Byng.

Freehold, NJ – Bob Klaus took home his third PRO Buggy victory of the year in the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL. The #26 BFGoodrich Tire equipped Toyota powered PRO Buggy opened the Chicagoland event by edging out the competition winning Round 7 in front of a near sellout crowd.

The East Coast resident has been competing in the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL for the past three seasons, and is one of the top competitors in the division. Between TORC events, the race team stores their rig at fellow competitor, Scott Schwalbe’s business in Northern Wisconsin. During the season all the prep work is done by Bob and his crew chief Tim Craley. All the commuting between home, the team’s temporary home in Wisconsin, and to the race tracks have definitely paid dividend for the team.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA – Chris Brandt #82 BFGoodrich / Toyota Pro Lite Unlimited Truck will be at the final round of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in Phoenix, Arizona at Firebird Raceway this Saturday, December 10th.  With 12 podium finishes Brandt has lead the points all season but fell 3 points behind Brian Deegan after the last Las Vegas rounds. “This weekends race is the last chance to determine the series champion.  With only 3 points separating Deegan and I, you know it will be the must see race of the season!” said Chris Brandt.

Sunday’s Pro Lite vs Pro Buggy Cup Race has a 1st place cash prize of $20,000, 2nd place of $10,000 and 3rd place will receive $5,000. “We are extremely focused on both races this weekend.  We have raced all year with great success and now it is time to finish the year with two wins,” said Brandt.

Chris Brandt has had an excellent 2011 season. Although the graphics on the truck have changed throughout this season, the talent behind the wheel and the desire to win has never faltered.  Chris Brandt was named the 2009 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing “Driver of the Year” and continues to prove his presence on the Pro Lite Track being coined as “Mr. Consistency” in 2011 with the 12 podiums during the season.  Starting in ATV Racing, he moved into trucks with great success as the Great Plains Off-Road Racing Association Champion from 1994-1997 where he would win multiple classes during the same weekend, earning him the title “Ironman”.  With multiple championships in PACE and CORR “Rookie of the Year” in 1999, he came into the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series with a history of success and a winning nature behind the wheel.  Chris Brandt manages to race competitively while running one of the largest concrete cutting companies in the Midwest with his father and raising his young daughter, Macy. Chris Brandt and the entire Brandt #82 Racing Team is looking forward to continuing the excellence into the 2012 season.

BFGoodrich Tires honored the Dusy-Ershim OHV Trail in Sanger, Calif., over the weekend as one of the 2011 Outstanding Trails. For the first time ever, fans in the off-road community were given the power to vote for their favorite off-road trail, and Dusy-Ershim came out on top. Off-road enthusiasts and members of the Four Wheel Drive Club of Fresno, Calif., were in attendance as BFGoodrich Tires presented a grant of $4,000 to the club. The grant will be used to preserve the scenic trail and continue conservation efforts for one of America’s most beautiful areas for off-roading.

Dusy-Ershim OHV Trail in the Sierra National Forest offers 33 miles of high mountain meadows, creeks, six natural lakes, unique granite mountains, cliffs and panoramic views at 10,200 feet. The trail is a major challenge for drivers, and having advanced driving skills is highly recommended. Dusy-Ershim offers the perfect escape, because it does not cross any roads or other OHV trails. It also has many foot trails, lakes and creeks that are accessible to walkers and hikers.

ROCKSTAR Energy Drink’s Rob MacCachren put on a driving clinic during the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) first stop at Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, Arizona earlier this year.  Since that time, the reigning Pro2 Unlimited champion has experienced his share of ups and downs, and was looking to regain the dominance he is famous for with the return to Surprise last weekend.  The ROCKSTAR Energy Drink was flowing as thirsty fans overcame the triple digit heat at Speedworld to watch MacCachren qualify third last Friday, which put him on the first row for Saturday’s main event.

When the green flag dropped for Saturday’s main event, MacCachren lost a drag race to Brian Deegan and slipped into the second place position.  The No. 1 ROCKSTAR Energy / BFGoodrich Tires / MasterCraft Safety truck maintained that position for the entire race, fending off multiple pass attempts by Rodrigo Ampudia and Jeremy McGrath in the process.  Rob Mac was able to close the gap on fellow ROCKSTAR athlete Deegan in the turns, but a power steering issue kept MacCachren from ever being able to take the lead.  Most racers would be satisfied with a second place podium finish, but MacCachren’s team has been fine tuning in order to get back to the front of the pack.

Sunday MacCachren started on the second row in a battle that proved to be even more exciting than Saturday’s Pro2 Unlimited race.  Trucks were bumper to bumper through the first several laps, with MacCachren in third place behind Greg Adler and Rodrigo Ampudia.  After a remarkable crash involving multiple trucks brought out the red flag, Adler pulled into the hot pits and Rob Mac moved up to second place.  There was still a lot of racing left though and Ampudia opened up a sizeable lead while MacCachren fended off Robert Naughton on the slippery, wet track.  Rob’s BFGoodrich tires held his lines perfectly though and stayed out of the ruts that caused other drivers to bicycle through the turns and lose track position.  When Ampudia faltered late in the race, the patient MacCachren pushed the No. 1 ROCKSTAR Energy / BFGoodrich Tir es / MasterCraft Safety truck past him in Turn 2 and never looked back, winning his fourth race of the season.

By once again dominating the competition at Speedworld, MacCachren has moved into second place in season points with three races remaining.  A rare break in his schedule takes MacCachren to Pomona on October 7th, where he is being inducted into the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame prior to the Off Road Expo.  Then on the weekend of October 8-9, Rob’s No. 20 Jimco SCORE Trophy Truck will be on display in the BFGoodrich booth at the Off Road Expo, and Rob will also be leading half hour technical seminars on both days at 11 AM and 2 PM in the BFG booth, with autograph signings for half an hour after each seminar.  This is a rare opportunity to learn from one of off-road racing’s all time best, and one that you absolutely will not want to miss.  From there Rob continues to battle for season points in LOORRS, TORC, and SCORE with the end of the s eason rapidly approaching.  For the latest Rob MacCachren updates follow him on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/21RobMac.

All the race vehicles have left the line for the 2011 Tecate SCORE Baja 500. The Trophy Trucks were off at 10 a.m. sharp, leaving in 30-second intervals after the first truck. Bryce Menzies was first off the starting line, followed by last year’s winner Andy McMillin and teammates Larry Roeseler and Tim Herbst.

With the top truck teams only about 100 miles into the 455-mile course, it’s still anybody’s race. Although fan favorites Gustavo Vildosola Jr., Robby Gordon and BJ Baldwin started near the back of the pack, each truck is still in contention at this point. The first bikes and ATVs should starting arriving this afternoon between 3 and 4 p.m. today. The lead has been a tossup between the JCR Honda teams of 1x and 0x and the 10x KTM of Ivan Ramirez and Class 21 racer Trevor Insley on the 104x bike.
