Both lights share the same light source, a 208 Lumen, 180° optic for full-field illumination, and use the Baja Designs signature 5000K Daylight bulb for natural lighting.
From the lights of the Las Vegas strip to the high desert of Reno, Nevada, this year’s General Tire Vegas to Reno challenged some of the best drivers the off road racing industry has to offer. Five hundred and fifty miles across the Mojave Desert at temperatures reaching upwards of 108 degrees gave everyone a run for their money. The longest off road race in the United States, Vegas to Reno claims its fair share of casualties.
San Marcos, CA – Congratulations to all participants in this year’s 2013 Tecate Score Baja 500 and a special thank you to Baja Designs’ Team Enlightened. Notably one of the toughest off-road races in the world, this year’s Baja 500 was an invigorating new format that stirred up the race right from the start.
New course sections, new series owner and new rules made for an especially exciting race. The 500 course was very technical, compared to recent years, which meant most race teams had no choice but to turn on their lights and drive through the night.
Baja Designs’ Team Enlightened earned a total of 19 podium finishes in 16 classes.
SAN MARCOS, CA – Baja Designs (BD) has always engineered and manufactured LED lighting systems with replaceable lenses and optics. Amazingly enough, almost all other LED bars are silicone sealed and not serviceable. If a BD lens is scratched or scored, you don’t replace the entire light as you do with most imported products, nor do you need to send it back to the manufacturer as you would with other popular LED lights.
BD’s uService™ technology allows you to simply unscrew BD’s water and dust proof lens and seal to replace the damaged optics or lens. On top of that, the same uService™ technology means you can also change the optics of your light. When you consider that BD also includes a limited lifetime warranty on all their lights, uService™ offers the ultimate in purchase protection.
The Scientists of Lighting are proud to announce that RPM OFFROAD has chosen to become members of Baja Designs Team Enlightened. Their drivers and co-drivers will be valuable race lighting analysts for Baja Designs and BD looks forward to collaborating with their long list of winning racers.
RPM OFFROAD Team Manager had this to say; “Over the last few years we bought a lot of offroad vehicles and raced in almost every major class. As a result, we have had the opportunity to test numerous lighting packages and we have noticed a distinct competitive advantage while running Baja Designs lights. Not only are their lights insanely bright and durable but the lighting knowledge and race experience of head engineer Alan Roach is invaluable when it comes to helping us aim lights as well as choose setups and patterns specific to each vehicle.”
San Marcos, CA – Baja Designs OnX LED Lights shine the way for Vildosola Racing to claim the overall victory at the 45th SCORE Tecate Baja 1000 race. The dominant win, finishing over 15 minutes ahead of the next racer, also marked Baja Designs as the only lighting manufacturer to win the grueling race with only LED lights shining the way – no HID lights.
Baja Designs’ ability to make their proprietary American-Made LED lighting technology shine further and brighter convinced the Vildosola Racing team to test and ultimately choose BD lights for their Trophy Truck. Vildosola Racing team joins other Baja champions like McMillin Racing, Menzies Motorsports, and JCR Honda in choosing BD Lights for their racing efforts.
Adrian, MI (November, 2012) – VWerks, an off road parts manufacturer and specialty vehicle builder, debuted at the 2012 SEMA Show a new vehicle program, the Ram Baja KTS Series. Designed to merge high speed desert racing technology with jaw-dropping looks and daily-driver comfort, this exclusive new truck challenges the Ford Raptor for high-speed supremacy. Available in two different stages, the Ram KTS series was designed to cross any terrain at full throttle while the Ram Baja is aimed for truck enthusiasts who want the KTS’s menacing looks and stance, but don’t need long-travel race ready suspension.
“The Ford Raptor has been very successful and there hasn’t been a new, easily accessible Ram counterpart,” said Jeff Wyatt, CEO of Venchurs. “Whether you want an actual high speed desert racer, or an aggressive looking truck to drive you to and from work, VWerks has an option for you.”
