Amsoil-Arenacross-10-10-12LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, season continued on Saturday night with the third round of action from Louisville, Ky., inside Freedom Hall. The championship’s first visit to Louisville since 2011 featured a dominant performance from its hometown rider as Kentucky native Tyler Bowers swept both Arenacross Class Main Events aboard his Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis to capture his second win of the season. In the Eastern Regional Arenacross Lites Class, Frontier Lubricants KTM’s Daniel Blair broke through for his first win of the year.

Bowers established his position at the front of the field as soon as the gate dropped on the first Arenacross Class Main Event, grabbing the holeshot and pulling away from the field. Triangle Cycles Yamaha’s Keith Tucker and Motosport.com/MJM Express/Spinechillers Racing KTM’s Nathan Skaggs followed in second and third, while points leader Zach Ames, who rides for Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki, and Motosport.com/MJM Express/Spinechillers Racing Kawasaki’s Michael McDade both started outside the top 10. Last week’s Saturday night winner and Road to Supercross competitor, Aaron Plessinger, also started outside the top 10 aboard his Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha.

– After an incredible first night of action inside Baltimore Arena, the second round of the 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, came to a dramatic conclusion on Saturday with a historic outcome. One night after finishing on the Arenacross Class podium in his first career race, MyPlash/Star Racing Yamaha’s Aaron Plessinger emerged victorious to make history as the first Road to Supercross competitor to ever take an overall victory. In the Eastern Regional Arenacross Lites Class, Triangle Cycle Yamaha’s Keith Tucker captured his second win of the season.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The penultimate round of the 2013 season for AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, also signified the third round of the inaugural Race to the Championship on Saturday night. Kansas City’s Sprint Center was the site of an incredible night of action in which Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis rider Tyler Bowers raced to his 10th overall victory of the season with a sweep of the night’s Arenacross Class Main Events. In the Arenacross Lites Class, Letko KTM’s Tanner Moore, who hails from nearby Auburn, Kan., broke through to capture his first win of the season in front of the hometown crowd.

In the evening’s opening Main Event for the Arenacross Class, it was Team Faith/FLY Racing KTM’s Kelly Smith who grabbed the holeshot and the early lead, closely followed by Bowers, Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki’s Zach Ames, and Team Faith/FLY Racing KTM’s Jeff Gibson. Prior to the conclusion of the opening lap, Bowers passed Smith for the lead and asserted himself at the front of the field. Just a few laps later, both Ames and Gibson made their move on Smith as well, dropping the KTM rider to fourth.

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The fifth round of AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, kicked off on Friday evening with the first of two nights of action from the Cedar Park Center. It was a dominant night for Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers on Friday, as the championship points leader swept each of the Main Events to claim his sixth overall victory of the year. In the Arenacross Lites Class, Ticketwow Honda’s Michael Lang capitalized on a late pass to grab the win.

As the gate dropped on the first Main Event of the Arenacross Class, Motosport.com/JBR/Spinechillers Racing KTM’s Nathan Skaggs positioned himself in lead out of the first corner with Bowers and Team Faith/FLY Racing KTM’s Kelly Smith in tow. On Lap 3, Bowers made his move on Skaggs and took over the top spot. Once out front, he pulled away from the field and cruised to victory.
