GNCC-Goes-Pink-9-27-13MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – In honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Round 13 of the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series will once again “go pink” for the 19th Annual AMSOIL Ironman GNCC. Taking place October 26 and 27 in Crawfordsville, Ind., the season finale has become more than just a race, as nearly 10,000 spectators are expected to attend what has arguably become the largest fall festival in Montgomery County.

The goal of Ironman’s pink-effort is to raise awareness and funds locally for breast cancer care and research, while also bringing the GNCC Racing community together for a cause that transcends racing. The pink livery will make a dynamic contrast to the woods, hills and mud of the iconic Ironman GNCC.

GNCC-Racing-Logo-4-17-13MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Round 10 of the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series took place this past weekend at the legendary Unadilla Raceway in New Berlin for the ninth running of the Can-Am Unadilla GNCC. Located in western New York’s hotbed of off-road racing, the Unadilla GNCC drew in an astonishing number of 1,971 ATV and motorcycle entries, marking the largest rider attended event in the 38-year history of GNCC Racing.

This comes after the highly successful season in 2012, where the Grand National Cross Country Series generated the second largest total of rider entries in the history of the series. With over 10% increase in participation from the previous year, the 2012 season nearly topped the all-time high mark set in 2007.

BFGoodrich-Logo-2-19-13The mecca of short course off-road racing witnessed big crowds, fast course conditions and door-to-door racing at rounds 13 and 14 of the Traxxas TORC Series, presented by AMSOIL and the World Championship races this past weekend. When all was said and done drivers on BFGoodrich Tires claimed three wins and 12 total podiums to go along with eight World Championship race titles.

Team BFGoodrich member Rob MacCachren put in a veteran performance by sweeping the Pro 4 races and finishing second and third in Pro 2 respectively to dig his heels into the Pro 4 standings. After the Crandon weekend, MacCachren has 285 points and stands just eight points out of first place, behind Johnny Greaves (293) and Ricky Johnson (290).

Russell-GNCC-9-6-13MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following a two-month summer break, the 2013 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series returns to racing this Sunday, September 8, for the ninth running of the Can-Am Unadilla GNCC, held at the legendary Unadilla Raceway in New Berlin, Ny. Sunday’s three-hour afternoon race will showcase an exciting battle for the XC1 Class championship between Factory FMF/KTM teammates Charlie Mullins and Kailub Russell, as only three points separate the duo heading into Round 10.

At four wins apiece, Mullins and Russell have gone head-to-head all season but after approximately 27 grueling hours of racing, Mullins holds a slight points lead through the first nine rounds. Mullins, the 2011 XC1 Champion, is working towards a second-straight title this season while Russell is seizing every opportunity to dethrone his teammate and capture his first-career XC1 championship. Russell heads into Round 10 with a three-race winning streak behind him and all the confidence to capture a fourth victory in New York.

Shenandoah Honda/USWE-Sports.com’s Thad DuVall is the only other rider besides Mullins and Russell to capture an overall victory this season. In addition to his Round 5 win, DuVall has put forth a consistent string of finishes but unfortunate mechanical issues caused the West Virginia native to forfeit valuable championship points along the way. DuVall currently holds fourth place in the overall standings.

Douglas-Crandon-off-road-9-3-13El Cajon, CA (September 3, 2013) – The Crandon Off-Road World Championships is the one weekend the entire short-course off-road racing marks on their calendar and race teams like Douglas Motorsports bring every additional part possible as the three race weekend carries more weight than any other event during the entire season. Scott Douglas and his #7 AMSOIL Borla Exhaust BFGoodrich Tire PRO-4×4 ran well throughout the weekend that was highlighted with a second place finish in Sunday’s Round 14 race.

The weekend began with the traditional Friday race truck display and parade. The event saw Scott Douglas meet and greet hundreds of off-road racing fans during the morning festivities. Then later in the day practice sessions kicked off all the on track activities. At the completion of the timed sessions, Douglas Motorsports was third quickest in the PRO-4×4 field.

Tireballs-GNCC-Off-Road-8-30-13The partnership between TireBalls and Amsoil Grand GNCC is celebrating a “Decade of Winning Championships.”  David Coombs vision of promoting motorcycle racing back in the mid 1970s has now launched to a one of the premier racing series drawing global recognition as the racing platform of choice for those willing to take on the challenge.

TireBalls existence started with a GNCC legend, Scott Summers, the son of the inventor of TireBalls.  Wade Summers effort to help his son tackle the rough terrain and flat tires resulted in the birth of TireBalls Multi-Cell Inflation System.  Like GNCC, TireBalls has grown to a global reach.  TireBalls is not only a light weight flat proof system, but they enhance a tires performance,  strengthen sidewalls, improved rider comfort, dampening the harshest of terrain and improving suspensions capabilities.

Bryce-Menzies-TORC-BFGoodrich-8-14-13Drivers on BFGoodrich Tires continued their successful run in the Traxxas TORC Series Presented by AMSOIL at the Red Bud MX track on Aug 10-11. A podium sweep of the Pro 4 class in Round 12 on Sunday served as a tremendous finale in what was a big weekend for the tire manufacturer which claimed five wins and 13 total podium finishes in the pro classes and won 10 of the 12 the sportsman class races as well.

Red Bud has notoriously technical and natural terrain to maneuver through which can and did prove to attract aggressive racing. Team BFGoodrich member Bryce Menzies swept the Pro 2 class both days while Rob MacCachren captured two podium spots in Pro 2 on the weekend.

Brad-Lovell-TORC_Off-road-8-13-13BUCHANAN, Mich. — The second Pro-Light race of the weekend at RedBud MX was a bruiser with the tight racetrack forcing drivers to play a high-speed game of bumper cars as the TORC Series presented by AMSOIL completed its annual visit to southern Michigan.

In the end, defending class champion Brad Lovell managed to find the podium for the sixth time this season, pulling off a respectable third-place result in his  AMSOIL/Torchmate/BFGoodrich Nissan before a boisterous Sunday afternoon crowd.

“I’m so proud to be back up here on the podium,” Lovell said. “That was a brutal race. So much banging and bumping. You just can’t avoid it on this track but today was especially hard. I took some hits today, I promise you.
