RENO, Nev. – The eighth round of AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, came to a dramatic conclusion on Saturday night in Reno, Nev., inside the Livestock Events Center as the final 10 riders that will compete in the Race to the Championship were determined. After a pair of dramatic Arenacross Class Main Events, Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis rider captured his sixth overall victory to solidify his position atop the championship standings. For the second straight evening, Factory Connection Honda’s RJ Hampshire dominated the Western Regional Arenacross Lites Class to sweep the division Main Events in AMSOIL Arenacross debut weekend.

AURORA, Ill. – While his start to the 2014 AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, season hasn’t been smooth through four nights of action, Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki’s Tyler Bowers is still full of confidence. The reigning three-time Arenacross Class Champion has one win to his credit this season, but currently sits fourth in the championship following multiple instances of misfortune and hard luck.
Nevertheless, AMSOIL Arenacross’ most well-known competitor knows that things happen over the course of a long season and with the Race to the Championship looming in the near future, he simply needs to put himself in position to be able to make a late-season run at a potential fourth consecutive title. This weekend, Bowers is eagerly awaiting the chance to return to his home state of Kentucky for the third round of the 2014 season from Louisville and the Freedom Hall.
AURORA, Ill. – The opening round of AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, set the tone for what should be an exciting season of competition as three different winners emerged from the four Arenacross Class Main Events. On the heels of back-to-back runner-up finishes over the weekend, Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Zach Ames sits atop the championship standings heading into the second round of action this weekend from Baltimore. Two nights of racing inside Baltimore Arena begin Friday, January 10, and conclude Saturday, January 11.
While reigning three-time Arenacross Class Champion Tyler Bowers began the season with an impressive Main Event sweep on opening night in Worcester, Mass., he experienced misfortune aboard his Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki during each Main Event on Night Two. Ames, who challenged his teammate en route to second last Friday, capitalized on Bowers’ hard luck with another second-place performance behind Saturday night winner and Motorsport.com/Spinechillers Racing Kawasaki rider Michael McDade. Ames’ consistency gives last year’s championship runner-up a slim one-point advantage over McDade heading into Baltimore.
WORCESTER, Mass. – The opening night of the 2013 season was a historic one for AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross inside the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. The innovative and exciting new racing format was unveiled to the New England crowd on Friday, as precious championship points were on the line throughout the evening in the premier Arenacross Class, highlighted by a pair of Main Events. In the end, reigning back-to-back champion Tyler Bowers, of Danville, Ky., and Michael McDade, of Edinburg, Pa., grabbed the checkered flags in each respective Main Event, but it was Zach Ames, of Prospect, Ohio, who stood atop the podium as the first overall winner of the new era of AMSOIL Arenacross. Additionally, McDade capped off an impressive and memorable evening for himself by capturing the Arenacross Lites Class victory.
As the gate dropped on the first 12-lap Main Event, Bowers quickly asserted himself at the front of the field aboard his Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis machine. Behind him, Advocare Suzuki’s Daniel Blair, of Lodi, Calif., and Ames, Bowers’ Babbitt’s teammate, began their battle for second. As the pair jockeyed for position early, Bowers took advantage by pulling away to a substantial lead. Just a few laps into the Main Event, Ames made his way past Blair and set a consistent pace to keep his rival at bay. Out front, Bowers made quick work of the field, kicking off his title defense with a convincing win in Main Event 1, with Ames and Blair hanging on for podium results.

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The fifth round of AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, kicked off on Friday evening with the first of two nights of action from the Cedar Park Center. It was a dominant night for Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers on Friday, as the championship points leader swept each of the Main Events to claim his sixth overall victory of the year. In the Arenacross Lites Class, Ticketwow Honda’s Michael Lang capitalized on a late pass to grab the win.
As the gate dropped on the first Main Event of the Arenacross Class, Motosport.com/JBR/Spinechillers Racing KTM’s Nathan Skaggs positioned himself in lead out of the first corner with Bowers and Team Faith/FLY Racing KTM’s Kelly Smith in tow. On Lap 3, Bowers made his move on Skaggs and took over the top spot. Once out front, he pulled away from the field and cruised to victory.
AURORA, Ill. – AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross, makes its trek to the Sooner State of Oklahoma as Tulsa’s BOK Center will host the fourth round of the 2013 season. Last weekend, Babbitt’s Monster Energy/ASMOIL Kawasaki presented by Maxxis’ Tyler Bowers posted a perfect weekend in Grand Rapids, Mich., by winning all four Main Events across two nights of action. Bowers now has three overall victories this season and carries a 35-point lead into action this Saturday, January 26.
The two Main Event format has produced great competition throughout the 2013 season and the inclusion of an inversion for the second Main Event has added even more intrigue to the outcome of each of the six nights of racing thus far. In Grand Rapids, Bowers overcame a 16-rider and eight-rider inversion on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively, to battle to the front of the field and post arguably his most dominant efforts of the year.
AURORA, Ill. – On the heels of announcing AMSOIL as the new title sponsor and the upcoming 2013 schedule, Feld Motor Sports® is revealing a variety of unique and exciting format changes that will make AMSOIL Arenacross more unpredictable than ever. Tickets for all AMSOIL Arenacross events will go on sale to the public Friday, November 16.
Beginning with the 2013 season an entirely new championship points structure will be introduced. Deviating from the traditional points system, AMSOIL Arenacross competitors in all classes will now compete on a single point system. Championship points will be awarded in one-point increments with a Main Event winner earning 16 points and reducing per position through the remainder of the field.
