Charlotte, N.C.  – Robby Gordon OFF-ROAD announced today that Sean Sermini, the owner of Superior Events, Racing & Management, Manager of Lebanon Valley Speedway Short-track and Owner of Stephentown Motocross Facility, has been hired as the Director of Operations for Robby Gordon OFF-ROAD’s Stadium SUPER Trucks Series.

Sermini will execute and direct each event during 2013. He will also oversee track construction in each stadium including pit areas and fan zones. Along with overseeing all operational staff/officials, choreographing pre-race activities and making sure the show runs on schedule including working with SST production staff and TV crew on producing a fantastic show for the fans.

“I have been a huge fan of stadium style motorsports since the mid-80s. I have also directed similar events for over a decade and now to have the opportunity to do what I love and direct the largest off-road truck racing series the world has ever seen, along side of Robby Gordon and his team is an absolute honor. Anyone who does not make time to check out one of these races this season is missing out. It’s going to be wild,” commented Sean Sermini on his new position with SST.

Irvine, Calif. – On the season’s second trip to Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif., Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto took his first win of the 2013 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. After qualifying in first position, Villopoto dominated his heat race and was ready to put his KX 450F on top of the box. He took control of the main event and once in the lead, rode uncontested to his first win of the new year. His teammate Jake Weimer rocketed to the holeshot in the 450SX main event and finished fifth after leading the first lap. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Tyla Rattray started the 250SX main event within the top-10 and made his way to finish in eighth place, while teammate Martin Davalos was involved in a first lap pile-up and recovered to finish 12th.

BREA, Calif. – American Suzuki is pleased to congratulate Rockstar Energy Racing on its first 450SX class win this past weekend at the opening round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season in Anaheim, California. Rockstar Energy Racing rider Davi Millsaps set the tone early by coming out strong on his 2013 RM-Z450 and winning his heat race.

Millsaps then repeated his performance in the main event after grabbing the holeshot against what has been considered the most competitive Supercross field in recent years. Millsaps led the majority of the race, but closed the show with a dramatic last-lap pass over Honda’s Trey Canard.

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The American Motorcyclist Association is pleased to welcome KTM North America as the presenting sponsor for the 2012 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by KTM, on Friday, Nov. 16, at the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nev.

KTM Motorsports has announced that former MX2 World Champions Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen have both been given a new two-year contract with the US Red Bull/KTM Factory Racing Team.

This news is announced just as Musquin, a two-time MX2 World Champion, achieved the highlight of his U.S. racing career with the overall win in the 250 Motocross class at Unadilla Raceway. His teammate, Ken Roczen, also earned a career first after taking a 250 Motocross class win in the first moto at Unadilla.

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — Famed Grand Prix motorcycle tuner Derek “Nobby” Clark has been elected to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in a supplemental vote, the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation reports.

“Derek ‘Nobby’ Clark stands shoulder-to-shoulder with roadracing’s most enduring legends, and played a key role in successes that will go down in history among the greatest of the sport,” said Jeffrey V. Heininger, chairman of the AMHF. “It’s time for Mr. Clark to take his rightful place among the many legends who embody the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.”

For 25 years, Clark was one of the world’s leading motorcycle race mechanics. In addition to being a part of 17 FIM Grand Prix world championships, earned in classes ranging from 50cc to 500cc, his teams won three Daytona 200s, one Daytona 100, four Imola 200s and eight Italian championships. Clark not only excelled at the highest level, but also worked with some of the greatest motorcycle racers in history, including Hall of Famers Mike Hailwood, Giacomo Agostini and Kenny Roberts.

AURORA, Ill. – Feld Motor Sports announced today that two-time defending Monster Energy AMA Supercross, and FIM World Championship, Supercross Class Champion Ryan Villopoto will be accompanied by recently appointed Miss Supercross Dianna Dahlgren during the first pitch ceremonies at Angel Stadium, home of the opening race of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross, season, before the Los Angeles Angels take on the Texas Rangers on Sunday, July 22 at 5:00 p.m.

The legendary Angel Stadium is a special place for Villopoto, having won four Supercross Class races at the unofficial home of Monster Energy Supercross. En route to his second consecutive Supercross Class Championship, Villopoto swept both races at Angel Stadium last year, including the season opener. During his Supercross Lites Class career at Angel Stadium, he won all three Main Events in 2007.
