Today, Nissan announced the details for its new 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gasoline engine that will power the Titan and Titan XD. The new engine, which Nissan says was assembled in Decherd, Tennessee, bookends the story of the first phase of the “American Titan” story. The engine features four-valves per cylinder, Variable Valve Event & Lift and Direct Injection, and is rated at 390 horsepower @ 5,800 rpm and 401 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm.

Truck lovers are no doubt champing at the bit with all the new-model introductions today at the 2015 North American International Auto Show from Detroit, Michigan. Fortunately for those truck enthusiasts, one of the first press introductions today is for Nissan, which unveiled the all-new Titan – both of them. That’s right, we have known the Titan was coming in 2016 and have been fully aware of the diesel option, but until now, we weren’t able to share the fact that there will actually be two new truck platforms in 2016 – the Titan and the Titan XD.

We already know that Nissan plans to unveil its next-generation Titan pickup truck at the Detroit Auto Show next month, but we’re still pretty light on details. The Titan made big waves when it was first introduced into the half-ton truck market by Nissan back in 2004.
