After racers tackled the 3.4-mile course, it was Dale Dondel who earned the fastest qualifying time at time trials for the 2014 Mint 400, edging out Bryce Menzies for the first spot off the line for Saturday’s race. With Menzies posting the second fastest time, it was Robby Gordon who took third place at the time trials.

The Mint 400 has teamed up with GoPro Cameras to create The Ultimate Off-Road Contest.  The Mint 400 is more than just an off-road race.  From the parade down the Las Vegas Strip to the monstrous Tech & Contingency to all the parties on the world famous Fremont Street, half the story is the journey to race day and what’s an easier way to document it than with a GoPro?   GoPro is putting up an “Everything We Make” package to the person with the raddest photo from the 2014 Mint 400.  Yes, one of everything that GoPro makes, including their brand new Hero 3+ camera.

Off-Road maniac Josh Daniel has been methodically building his trophy truck program set to launch at the famed Mint 400. After racing for other teams for the past four years, Josh has decided to take destiny into his own hands and build a trophy truck program that is capable of winning in spectacular fashion. Josh is well known for being a fully committed driver not being satisfied with mid pack racing. His new trophy truck, built by Geiser Brothers and finished at Danzio Performance, is the first trophy truck in history to sport a custom twin turbo Danzio Performance engine capable of putting down over 1000 horsepower. Danzio Performance is known for integrating cutting edge technology to improve the performance of their race engines. “The Great American Off-Road Race” set a new world record today, when it announced that the 2014 Mint 400 will field 55 trophy trucks on Saturday March 15th, for their annual epic 400-mile off-road marathon. Trophy trucks are the premier class of off-road racing, and lead the massive group of nearly 300 total race vehicles, spread across 20 different classes.

– The Martelli Brothers announced today that American Racing Legend Parnelli Jones will be the Grand Marshal of the 2014 General Tire Mint 400 presented by Polaris. Parnelli had a long and illustrious carrier in racing and is well known for pushing race vehicles to their limits and beyond. Winner of the 1963 Indy 500, he was the first driver to qualify over 150 mph. Parnelli is one of only two men to have ever won The Indy 500 and The Mint 400.
