HURRICANE MILLS, Tenn. (July 30, 2014) – The 2014 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL kicked off its racing schedule on Tuesday from the historic Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee for the 33rd running of the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur motocross championship. Seventeen different riders emerged victorious through the first 20 gate drops and while there’s still plenty of racing left to go, several of this year’s key players were established in the opening set of motos.
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – MX Sports, producer of the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL, is pleased to announce the 2014 Area Qualifier Schedule. Taking place in 32 states throughout the country, a total of 51 Area Qualifiers will run from February through the end of May, in preparation for the Regional Championships and the culmination of it all – the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.
The Area Qualifiers serve as the first step in qualifying for the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur motocross championship. The Regional Championships then serve as the next step to seed riders into the National Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch. Only riders who finish in a qualifying position at a Regional Championship are eligible to race the National, which takes place July 28 – August 2, 2014.
