Compton, California – Greg Adler Motorsports and Team 4 Wheel will be flying into Reno, Nevada on August 22-23 to clash with short course off-road racing’s elite drivers on what has been described as the wildest course on the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series circuit. Reno’s Wild West Motorsports Park, with its soaring elevation changes, gravity defying drop-offs and high speed straight-a-ways carved into the Nevada hillside, will provide a stark contrast from the sandy beaches of Baja where the team competed just three weeks ago. And as Adler heads into the self-proclaimed “Biggest Little City in the World” for Rounds 13-14, he sets his sights on finishing the 2015 season with a flourish.
Reno, NV – Race four of the General Tire Jeepspeed Series presented by KMC Wheels and Premier Chrysler-Jeep was the Best In The Desert series, Vegas to Reno race. It’s always a huge challenge. The race mileage traversed through Northern Nevada is over 540. Rain squalls the week before the race made it rougher than ever but had no effect on the deep silt beds that trapped everyone at least once. The unlimited cars and trucks create big holes, ruts and deep powdery silt on the course. Jeepspeed racers start later in the day. With 33 inch tires and limited suspension travel, they run a course that is as bad as it gets. That’s why Jeepspeed racers have a special camaraderie unlike any other class of racing. Every team that shows up takes on the challenge willingly and should be commended. The competition was so tight during the race, that the top 4 cars through the first 4 pits had only a 40 second to 1 minute split leaving each pit.
Valcourt, Québec – Can-Am ATV and side-by-side vehicle racers came away with two podiums at the 2015 Best In the Desert Vegas To Reno desert race. The Can-Am / ITP / Murray Racing team of Derek and Jason Murray finished second in Class 1900 in their Can-Am Maverick side-by-side. Can-Am Renegade 4×4 racer Chris Robinson put in a spectacular third-place ride in the Ironman division.
Chandler, AZ – Rather than striking out, the third time proved to be a charm as Team DragonFire/AZ West/Rockstar Racing’s Lacrecia Beurrier won the infamous Vegas to Reno off-road race this past weekend. Billed as the longest point-to-point off-road race in the country, Buerrier beat the odds after the ignominy of a DNF the last time out to win not only the 545-mile race, but also clinch the 2015 Best In The Desert Pro Unlimited UTV title. It wasn’t as easy at it may have looked though!
