The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) is revising its Land and Resource Management Plan (Forest Plan), which will guide the management of all forest resources for the next 10 to 15 years. The Forest Service will be hosting a series of three Open House meetings through the end of the year.

The Open Houses will have specific topics, but no agenda. They are windows of opportunity for you to drop in and interact with a variety of SFNF resource specialists about Plan Revision. Depending on interest level, there may the opportunities for additional locations and resource topics in 2017.

– Lincoln Electric has contracted with master builder and television personality Bryan Fuller and longtime educator and author Mark Prosser to team up to teach several seminars on welding and fabricating at Booth 24643 during the Specialty Equipment Market Association’s (SEMA) signature event, Nov. 1-4, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

– With the recently announced technical and advanced course of the 49th Annual SCORE Baja 1000 potentially requiring an extended length of driving time. Robby Gordon has elected to partner with experienced off-road and rally racer Damen Jefferies of Apple Valley, Calif., to take the reigns of the familiar SPEED Energy/ Toyo Tires/ KMC Wheels No. 77 Trophy Truck for a select portion of the 830-mile course.

– Trail Hero wrapped up Saturday with a full day of trail rides, plus Bounty Hill and the Lasernut Rock Race followed by closing ceremonies in downtown Hurricane.

Visalia, Calif.
– Hellwig Products teamed up with the top aftermarket manufacturers in the industry to build a one-of-a-kind 2016 Nissan Titan XD diesel overland truck and camper for the 2016 SEMA Show. The overlanding pickup truck will be equipped with a customized Lance Camper and will make its debut on November 1st, 2016 in the Hellwig Suspension Products Booth #34075.

— Wether they are pro racers or pit moms, women are uniting this weekend to win the battle against breast cancer. Since 2005, the Mojave Off-Road Racing Enthusiasts (M.O.R.E.) Powder Puff event has been raising money and awareness to beat breast cancer. On Saturday, October 15, a full field of female racers head to the desert just outside Barstow, CA, to race towards a cure and once again DragonFire is proud to be participating.

Polaris-12-2-11Polaris Industries Inc. just announced this morning that it has agreed to purchase  Transamerican Auto Parts Company (“TAP”), a privately held, vertically integrated manufacturer, distributor, retailer and installer of off-road Jeep and truck accessories, for $665 million. In a press release sent out this morning, Polaris notes the purchase price implies “a multiple of approximately 9.0 times TAP’s EBITDA for the 12 months ended September 30, 2016.”

TAP sells and installs an extensive line of accessories for Jeep and truck enthusiasts, including products manufactured under its seven aftermarket brands that include Pro Comp, Rubicon Express, Smittybilt, Poison Spyder, G2, LRG and Trail Master. Transamerican Auto Parts is the largest retailer and installer in the North American market, selling through its own retail and on-line network while also supporting numerous independent accessory retailers/installers. In the last year, ending September 30, 2016, TAP has generated approximately $740 million in sales.

― To recognize the importance that racing in the Baja peninsula has had for the brand, BFGoodrich Tires has put together an enhanced contingency program for racers at the 49th Annual SCORE Baja 1000.

BFGoodrich will award $10,000 in contingency money to the overall winners of the race running exclusively on their tires.

SCORE-Baja-1000-49th-9-12-16ENSENADA, Mexico — As entries continue to arrive from all across the United States and from around the world, the drawing for starting positions will be held on Thursday for next month’s 49th annual SCORE Baja 1000, the granddaddy of all desert races. The final round of the four-race 2016 SCORE World Desert Championship will be held Nov. 15-20 in Ensenada, Mexico.

The oldest continuous-running, most prestigious and most rugged desert race in the world, nearly 250 entries, from 35 U.S. States and 15 countries are expected to participate in classes for cars, trucks, UTVs, motorcycles and quads in this year’s celebration of the iconic SCORE Baja 1000.

– Trail Hero continued Friday with trail rides across the southern Utah landscape outside Hurricane. Friday also included the Low Range Off-Road and Red-Desert Off-Road Bounty Hill climb, which proved to be a bit harder than everyone anticipated.
