MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – As the 2015 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, heads into round three this weekend, a new championship dynamic presents itself in the XC1 Pro ATV class. Adam McGill currently tops the championship standings heading into Saturday’s FMF Steele Creek GNCC and while it’s still early in the season, the pole position is something that McGill has not experienced since his rookie year in 2008.

SCORE-Baja-Sur-500-Logo-3-23-15RENO, Nev. — Southern gentleman Clyde Stacy, of Bristol, Va., received the honor of drawing the first starting position for next month’s history-making Inaugural Bud Light SCORE Baja Sur 500 desert race in his No. 5 RPM Racing Chevy Rally Truck that will race in the marquee SCORE Trophy Truck division for high-tech, 850-horsepower, unlimited production trucks. The drawing was held Tuesday in Reno, Nev. where SCORE’s corporate headquarters is located.

Stacy and his protégé Carlos ‘Apdaly’ Lopez of Tecate, Mexico, finished third in January in the season-opening Bud Light SCORE San Felipe 250 in Baja, Mexico.

SCORE International, for over four decades known as the world’s foremost desert racing organization, is taking another giant step into the future as Round 2 of the 2015 SCORE World Desert Championship will mark the first time in its storied history that SCORE will present a race entirely in Baja California Sur, on the southern end of the Mexico’s majestic Baja California peninsula.

The General Tire Mint 400 was a record setting high when over 330 entries were ready to do battle for the 2015 Great American Off-Road Race. This years race would have 5 days worth of festivities, two packed races and a new spectator friendly course that would allow fans to be able to be apart of the action. Following several years of negotiations and finalization of details with Mexican officials, SCORE, known as trail blazers in the sport of desert racing, will present the inaugural Bud Light SCORE Baja Sur 500 on April 15-19. The race will start at the luxurious tourist destination of Cabo San Lucas on the southernmost tip of the peninsula and finish in the picturesque city of Loreto on the glistening Sea of Cortez on the east side of the peninsula.

BRC’s Team Albright is headed east to dig into issues affecting motorized access face-to-face in the eastern half of the US.  The “cry for help” has been heard and BRC is pushing ahead with a plan; but we need your input.  In fact, we’d like your suggestions, travel ideas, tips on places to visit and offers for “meet and greets” where Del and Stacie can hear from you and your club directly.  Together we need to work towards a better future for you and your family to enjoy outdoor motorsports.

GT-THUMB-mint-400-1-21-15Unofficial results put Class 10 racer Roger Starkey as the winner by 1.5 seconds over Chad Dohrman in another 10 car.

“What a race!” Starkey said on the podium. “This is the second time we’ve run the mint, but the first time we’ve won it. We started out in third and got out in front, so we only had to worry about someone catching up. It was unbelievable. The course was great…real fast…getting a little chewed up. It couldn’t be better.”

UTVs and other limited classes were still on the course when Starkey crossed the finish line. Starkey thanked his team and race organizers and reported his car had no flats and the engine was flawless.
