Pat Okeefe mint 400 crash
Amazingly, Pat O’Keefe survived this huge truck crash during qualifying at for the Mint 400 off-road race.  Incredibly, he drove away and finished qualifying!

Flying Toyota
If you haven’t seen this one yet, brace yourself. What looks like a backyard stunt gone wrong is actually footage of a truck launching our of a ditch. What we didn’t realize when we first saw the footage is it’s actually the tail end of a police chase. Just remember, kids, evading the police is never a good idea.

Packed Dirt
A word of caution, anytime you plan to climb a berm or a hill, make sure its well packed in before you charge hard at it. Check out the rookie move below:

Muddy RZR roll
Any hill climb presents its own unique challenges.  Trying to make it up a muddy hill climb is asking for trouble. This guy charged hard, but in the end the the hill prevailed.

Robby Gordone Save
Robby Gordon knows his way around the desert in a trophy truck.  It’s also safe to say he knows how to react in order to save an off-road crash, and here he demonstrates that ability like the veteran he is.

RZR Fail or save
This guy’s run started out by putting his RZR on its lid, and then just before it tumbled down the hill he managed to get it back on four wheels and drive away. We’re not sure if we’d classify that as a RZR fail or not but it certainly could have been ugly.

Matlock Baja 1000
Anyone who’s ever raced in Baja will tell you that you battle the race course as much as the other racers. Wayne Matlock is a multi-time champion ATV racer who recently switched to piloting UTVs, and at this year’s SCORE Baja 1000 Matlock gave a perfect example of maintaining the will to win in Baja. After losing his right front tire while leading the race, Matlock and his co-driver managed to limp the machine to the finish with only three wheels and earn a second place in class and fourth place overall.

Wrangler Rollover
It’s obvious from this video that the ground is pretty wet, so it’s no surprise that this Jeep Wrangler lost traction while climbing up this hill. Where the driver messed up is turning the steering wheel while sliding backwards. File this one under “what not to do.”

Supercross Whoops
Racing supercross is not for the faint of heart. Professional racers make it look easy on TV, but in real life the jumps are nearly vertical, and supercross whoops can send you tumbling in a hurry.  Just ask this guy.

Jeep Cherokee Jump Water
We’ve seen some great Jeep Cherokee jumps in our day, but we’ve never seen one completely submerged in water upon landing.  Apparently the driver was planning for a wild ride because he had the good sense to strap on a helmet. Watch this Jeep Cherokee take on a pond.
