There are a gazillion different ways to make sure your product gets in front of customers. Polaris figures the best option is to hire a pro driver, stuff him into a hot product, and make a few videos. They’re probably right.

Ages ago, back when the internet was still slow and Metallica was raging against Napster, BMW produced an eight-part film series called The Hire. The episodes starred Clive Owen as “The Driver”, who gets into and out of hard scrapes while showing off the performance of a BMW. They were extremely popular with gearheads, to put it mildly. Now, Polaris is trying something similar.

Instead of tapping a Hollywood star for the lead, Polaris made a wise choice and called upon off-road racer RJ Anderson to shred a few driving moves in front of the camera. Visions is a four-part mini-series highlighting the chest-thumping ability of the new Polaris RZR XP Turbo S side-by-side.

The first installment is called ‘Snow Blind’ and sees Anderson exploding down the unhinged slopes of Donner Ski Ranch in an XP Turbo S. Pro snowboarder Torstein Horgmo shows up for good measure. The three-minute video captures the two athletes taking on the mountain in their respective sports, showcasing the Turbo S taking on terrain typically reserved for snowboarders and skiers. Anderson attacks the mountain in the Polaris RZR with no mercy.

“I love racing and ripping through desert terrain, but when I saw the specs on the all-new Turbo S Polaris earlier this year, I envisioned this thing dominating any terrain,” said Anderson. “People are used to seeing me fly through the desert but sending the Turbo S through snow-covered mountain terrain and off jumps alongside Torstein was something entirely new.”

Like any good teaser campaign, there’s more to arrive in the months ahead. The three additional installments of Visions will be released later this year. Each episode will showcase Anderson and the Turbo S, joined by other action sports stars, shredding totally unique forms of extreme terrain. We’ve already seen snow – any wagers as to the other three terrains? Our money is on sand, dirt, and rocks.

With 32-inch tires and 16-inches of ground clearance, the XP Turbo S deploys a very aggro and broad-shouldered stance. Shocks are of the FOX Podium internal bypass variety at all four corners, 2.5-inches up front and 3.0-inches in the rear. Powering this belligerent rocket is a ProStar 4-stroke turbo twin-cylinder, measuring 925cc and making 168hp. That’s plenty of motivation to get its 1718lbs on the move.

Check out the first Visions episode below and watch for the other three in the months ahead.
