Texans love their trucks. In fact, a full 20 percent of the American pickup market is made up of sales to the Lone Star state. A great place, then, for Ram to introduce a couple of Texas-sized trim additions to the Ram lineup.

Adding to a long list of trim levels are the new-for-2018 Laramie Longhorn Southfork and Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver models. Don your cowboy boots and polish that belt buckle; Ram is about to take Texas style and flair to their top-rung trucks.

The super-lux Laramie Longhorn trim has been around for a while but it will be joined this year by the Laramie Longhorn Southfork edition. The newest member of Ram’s opulent offerings builds upon the well-appointed Longhorn trim with even more luxury, technology, and refinement.

Inside the pickup, Southfork features new Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige leather, the first time Ram has offered a near-white interior color on this iteration of the Ram. The color combo was created in response to customer demand. This premium leather also wraps the interior grab handles while real walnut wood trims the steering wheel. A suede headliner caps off the super-luxurious cab. JR Ewing would be proud.

Eagle-eyed truck spotters will spy a chrome ‘Longhorn’ badge, stretched to span the width of the tailgate. The Southfork edition is available in all current Laramie Longhorn colors including a two-tone option with lower paint featuring Ram’s recently added RV Match Walnut Brown hue.

The other new trim is the extension of the Lone Star Silver edition to the Heavy Duty line. Identified by its chrome-surround grille with chrome Wave Mesh inserts, the Lone Star Silver trim also has a round badge with its trim name stuck proudly on its natty new grille. Other exterior highlights include new bright belt moldings, chrome exterior side-view mirrors, chrome wheel-to-wheel side steps, polished 20-inch wheels and front tow hooks.
