Andy-McMillin-2017-Parker-425-2-8
PARKER, AZ
– Team Toyo driver Andy McMillin and Toyo Tires won first overall and first in the Trick Truck class during the Best In The Desert BlueWater Resort Parker 425 race this past weekend. McMillin’s #31 Toyo Tires,  Fox, Method Race Wheels Ford truck relied on 39-inch Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires to help deliver his win over the three-lap course.

The Parker 425 is extremely popular and draws a large field of entrants.  This year’s race was considered especially tough and delivered a pounding, causing many entrants to drop out.  Without having pre-run the course, McMillin started the race in 16th and was cautious on the first lap.  Even maintaining a deliberate pace, he moved to eighth on the course by the end of Lap 1.  During the second lap, McMillin increased his speed in order to become the second truck to the pits.  By lap three, it was clear he had taken the lead and he managed his pace to remain in first by the finish.

“The course was brutal and winning is a true testament to my Toyo tires, Method wheels and FOX shocks.  The TSCO Racing guys did an excellent job on the prep of the truck and in the pits on race day,” said McMillin.  “It feels good to get my second Overall Win at Parker, a race with so much history in our sport.  Now we’re focused on winning the Mint 400 next month.”

“Toyo Tires congratulates Andy McMillin for winning the Parker 425 overall,” said Stan Chen, senior manager of events and sponsorships, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.  “This is a great start to the 2017 off-road racing season, and it is a testament to McMillin’s determination as well as the performance of our Open Country M/T-R tires.”

In 2016, McMillin won the 644-mile Best In The Desert Vegas-to-Reno race on Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires.
