If you’re looking for a tough truck that isn’t all bark and no bite, the Ram Macho Power Wagon is one concept from the 2016 SEMA Show that fits the bill. Taking its name from the Power Wagon trim level from the 1970s, the Macho takes the the Power Wagon’s off-road capability and versatility up a few notches with Mopar concept and production products.

One of the most eye-catching features on this truck is found in the 6’4” bed, as a Mopar concept sliding RamRack can adjust to help securely store whatever outdoor toy you’re looking to transport. The Ram Rack will actually slide up and stow under the cab’s sail panel when not in use, and of course Mopar designed it to work in conjunction with the RamRack roof system that helps secure items with its six tie downs.

Giving this Power Wagon concept some of its ‘Macho’-ness is a four-inch custom lift kit that helped the Mopar team stuff 37-inch Nitto Trail Grappler tires onto 18-inch concept beadlock wheels. The color, aptly named “Macho Mango”, is also found on the beadlock wheel rings. Up front, an aggressive-looking concept hood is featured, and the new front bumper is fitted with a winch, winch guard and tow hooks.

The Macho Power Wagon concept features more concept parts, including the off-road running boards, fender flares and 21-inch LED light bar and clearance lights on the roof. Both front and rear bumpers integrate painted, bright silver skid plates and tow hooks. The Macho is powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI engine that is fitted with a Mopar cold-air intake, while concept black powder-coated dual-wall five-inch Mopar exhaust tips give the truck some additional growl.

We wouldn’t necessarily think of mango as a macho color or name, but the Macho Power Wagon is tough enough that you wouldn’t want to make fun of its paint color… because it might kick your butt.
