Toyo Tire just announced the addition of two new offerings to its Open Country lineup of truck and SUV tires, unveiling the Open Country Q/T Open Country C/T.

The new Toyo Open Country Q/T is aimed at the SUV and CUV market, and according to Toyo this all-season tire is designed to offer “a quiet, comfortable ride; impressive tread life; and attractive design.” The Q/T features Toyo’s Silent Wall technology that reduces pipe resonance for a quiet ride, while its four wide circumferential tread grooves are designed to aid wet traction by allowing water to evacuate the tread. The tread pattern also features “multi-wave sipes” in the tread blocks for even tread wear and also improve breaking in wet and dry conditions.

The Open Country Q/T is backed with a 65,000-mile treadwear warranty, and Toyo also offers its No Regrets Trial Offer of 45 Days/500 Miles. The tire will be offered in 35 sizes.

The other new offering from Toyo is the Open Country C/T, which is an all-terrain tire designed for trucks ranging from half-tons to 1-tons. The commercial grade truck is designed for all-around use, but it’s also rated for snow use since it was awarded the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake rating.

Although the Open Country C/T features a more aggressive all-terrai design, Toyo says the three-ply true is designed for a quiet ride on the highway, thanks in part to its tread compound that contains high levels of natural rubber. According to Toyo, the C/T was “specifically designed for rough roads and no roads,” and its natural rubber compound helps resist cutting, chipping, and stone drilling of rough terrain, and yet the tire is designed to remain flexible in lower temperatures.

The Open Country C/T features dual-angle shoulder blocks to aid its traction in off-road terrain, and it also is able to accept TSMI #15 studs to help in ice traction.

The Open Country C/T will be available in 16 OE replacement and flotation sizes ranging from 16- to 20-inches in wheel diameter and load ranges D and E.

“Our Open Country tires are well known for durability, long tread life, and performance,” said Roy Bromfield, president, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “The new Open Country Q/T adds refinement to the line-up while the Open Country C/T expands our commercial grade offerings for light truck owners.  With this expansion we have a tire for every truck, SUV, and CUV owner; and every terrain.”
