John Deere recently announced the addition of two new models in its crossover utility vehicle lineup, assign the new Gator XUV560 and XUV560 S4. This new mid-size model from John Deere is an affordable option for the company, highlighted by an “ergonomic operator station, quiet V-twin engine, independent four-wheel suspension, four-wheel drive and availability of more than 75 attachments.”

The Gator XUV560 and XUV560 S4 are more designed for tackling jobs around the farm or ranch more so than really hitting the trails, but the all-around package of the new XUV560 still appeals to tackling more than one job.

“This update to our Gator family provides even more options for our customers to choose from,” said Mark Davey, John Deere marketing manager, Gator utility vehicles. “The XUV560 was crafted to deliver all the bells and whistles you expect from John Deere, at an attractive price tag.”

The XUV560 and XUV560 S4 are designed to offer easy entry and exit, and three-point seat belts and side grab handles are added for driver and passenger safety. Both side-by-sides offer sealed under hood storage and feature a large, one-piece cargo box. The tailgate features one-hand operation for ease of use.

The Gator XUV560 and XUV560 S4 come standard with four-wheel independent suspension, and the models are powered by a 570cc V-twin gasoline engine, and John Deere notes “the carburetor is tuned for rapid throttle response, reliable cold-weather starting, smooth mid-range power delivery and quiet idling,” but keep in mind this isn’t a thrill machine since it only will reach a top speed of 28 mph.

The new XUV560 is offered in a two-seat of four-seat version, with optional add-ons for the cargo box such as a rail system, power lift, wall extensions and a spare tire.
