With its mountainous red-rock backdrop, Moab, Utah, draws in adventure seekers of all sorts every year its scenery and wide variety of outdoor activities. Off-roaders flock to the trails of Moab throughout the year, many of which were at one time uranium mining roads.

Although the Jeep crowd has Easter Jeep Safari and the Toyota crew has Cruise Moab, the side-by-side wheels have their own event at Moab called Rally on the Rocks. The 2016 Discount Tire Rally on the Rocks was held last month from May 10-14, with more than 1100 attendees with more than 5oo vehicles from 38 states and two provinces from Canada making the trek for this year’s event. With entries expected to grow again next year, the dates are already set for the 2017 Rally on the Rocks, which we be from May 16-20 in Moab.

Discount tire actually compiled quite a bit of information for this year’s event. Between 250 to 500 walk-up attendees visited the vendor areas during the five-day event, and in terms of brand entries Polaris led the pack with 73 percent of the vehicles, Arctic Cat was second at 10 percent, Can-Am and “other” models accounted for % percent each, and Kawasaki was 4 percent of the group and Yamaha 3 percent.

For those looking for more information about the event, a page of FAQs is compiled on the event website, which you can find here. For those looking to relive the action or see what it’s all about, Discount Tire put together a great highlights video recapping the action from this year’s Rally on the Rocks event.
