Turbos, turbos and more turbos. Lots of turbos mounted in all sorts of ways to six-cylinder engines are featured in this lengthy but worthwhile video of SUVs partaking in an organized off-road drag race filmed at the Emirates Motorplex in the United Arab Emirates.

Although the video is vintage 2013, it’s one of the most unique off-road flicks we’ve seen in some time. The off-road drag race video, filmed and edited by Peter Björck and posted on Bjp Race’s YouTube page, shows a host of different turbo-charged, hood-less SUVs lining up to post the fastest time on a flat dirt track.

As you’ll see, some of the trucks have their impressive garage projects sporting turbos and intercoolers mounted above the engine in direct line of site for the driver. In fact, the number of trucks with their hoods on is few and far between. Mud-terrain tires are used on many of the rigs, including BFGoodrich KMs and other familiar tires. One of the funnier comments about the video came from Lucas Klauser, who noted, “As an American… they’re out America-ing us.”
